  1. Well no credit for the hauler, that is a die cast
  2. That Duster is pretty awesome!
  3. Yep, trans-planted to Impala trani, made custom headers, and combined several things to make it all co-exist. Used automotive acrylic enamel for the first time. Thanks
  4. My entry for the Cannonball CPB
  5. The Impala is done...
  6. Thanks Dave, I set it down on the chassis tonight, couldn't wait, looks even better. I may start using automotive paints much more often, paid $9.50 for 8oz., where as I'm paying $8 for two bottles(1oz) of Mod . Mast. enamel, he can actually make as little as 4oz., so less sitting around on my shelf.
  7. Here's the paint job, my first attempt at using automotive grade Acrylic Enamel.
  8. I like to follow Lone Wolf's method, wash with mild soap, rinse completely, use airbrush to blow dry, then paint immediately after.
  9. Good luck, had/have the same problem, starting to fab my own.
  10. Got the Impala painted today, will post pics when it is dry. Now to finish that engine bay!
  11. This is how it has been sitting for several months, hope to knock it out over Thanksgiving http:// http://
  12. As I've been told, also remember to use automotive primer before using automotive paint, or you could end up with a melted Mustang!
  13. Also keep in mind that these putties sometimes have a tendency to shrink, if i have a joint seam or a really low spot, I started using med. CA glue first, sands out well. Then putty over top.
  14. Awesome stuff, thanks!!
  15. I have not tried the that paint set up yet, but my experience is that some paints, especially fresh jobs, need to soak for several days to make a dent. Put it in and forget about it for awhile.
  16. There have been many discussions on this subject here, the risk is NOT worth it! The fumes, flammability, and explosiveness!
  17. Another idea would be to use a toothpick or the like with a bit of sticky tack on the end (blue plyable compound to hang pics or posters with) and then apply your adhesive.
  18. Wow Larry, sorry about your friend, glad to see he's continuing on in a positive way! My thought and observation over the years as many products come out with all these crazy warnings on them of what not to do, is that somebody somewhere has tried these things with disasterous results. We are given one life, appreciate it! Happy modeling
  19. I'm having the same problem finding the color for a '96 Impalas SS, the paint codes and chips available online and in auto shops don't match the ones I've seen on the street, it's a rare color. Online is easiest, or a good auto body store can also help.
  20. Try making your own with a piece of wood dowel or plastic and gluing your grit you're working with on the end, you can cut any shape to accommodate the area of need.
  21. I've taken some to my local office supply store and had them copied on a laser printer on my decal paper. Keep in mind they can't print white, but you can use white decal paper. Also, you will have to seal them with clear and cut out the detail on your own.
  22. I have heard about the debonder, it sometimes works, and you may have to try it several times to get through.
  23. Is there any difference between the Dark Knight Rises version and the Trilogy version?
  24. Guess I better go make some more copies! Thanks guys, I debated about clear first, just hesitsnt to loose the nice finish I had gotten, but .....I know,I know!
  25. Would it be a stretch to think if I sprayed the clear over the decals now, it would soak in and adhere?
