  1. How about something like plowboy said and/or combine a short Prostock scoop, but reversed..opening in rear.
  2. Well this is my first time building a Johan kit. Wow, these kits are a lot of work and don't offer a lot of detail. Here's a possible rim choice, and Modelhaus hood, also started painting the chassis
  3. Doesn't matter. still looks very cool!!
  4. Hobby Lobby(40% coupon), has a nice magnifier on weighted wheel stand, also I love my 4' small tube fluorescent light, much brighter than a standard size bulb.
  5. Thanks Gene, I am going to do some research and comparison to other kits to find out. The 442 was a 455ci engine, but the Ralley 350 that I will do carried a 350ci with around 310 hp, I believe it was called a 350 Rocket.
  6. Here's my '70 Olds
  7. I would say no on the bottles, the foam will melt away and over time the fumes from the thinner could easily work on the plastic lids. CLEAN the airbrush, use an airbrush cleaning set of brushes to remove paint from all areas, especially the tips, seats, etc.
  8. I even use the CA glue to fill some, it seals and fills. Also sands out pretty well.
  9. Well I'm going to commit with a 1970 Olds Cutlass Ralley 350. I was going to do a 78 Firebird, but since there is going to be a 77 in the race, I will scratch that and maybe enter a second entry, if time allows, later.
  10. Man, I better get mine figuered out, you guys keep taking my ideas from my available kits!
  11. Congrats Road Runner 79, well deserved!! Loved the Duster!
  12. For my two cents, I think anyone who votes should do so with the spirit of the race in mind. Not just vote because a build is really nice, but also one that would be the least likely to be pulled over, something durable, etc. I have my overall favorite, and no, it's neither of mine. No matter what, JUST KEEP IT FUN!! Can't wait for the info to start next years, thanks Nick for your many efforts!!
  13. Thanks, but you never know what might be under the hood, seat, cab?(LOL)
  14. The hauler is a Jada die cast
  15. Thanks to one and all, learned a LOT from the members here!
  16. Well no credit for the hauler, that is a die cast
  17. That Duster is pretty awesome!
  18. Yep, trans-planted to Impala trani, made custom headers, and combined several things to make it all co-exist. Used automotive acrylic enamel for the first time. Thanks
  19. My entry for the Cannonball CPB
  20. The Impala is done...
  21. Thanks Dave, I set it down on the chassis tonight, couldn't wait, looks even better. I may start using automotive paints much more often, paid $9.50 for 8oz., where as I'm paying $8 for two bottles(1oz) of Mod . Mast. enamel, he can actually make as little as 4oz., so less sitting around on my shelf.
  22. Here's the paint job, my first attempt at using automotive grade Acrylic Enamel.
  23. I like to follow Lone Wolf's method, wash with mild soap, rinse completely, use airbrush to blow dry, then paint immediately after.
  24. Good luck, had/have the same problem, starting to fab my own.
  25. Got the Impala painted today, will post pics when it is dry. Now to finish that engine bay!
