  1. Ya, but even Barbie had Mattel's copyright stamped to her butt! How else would you see that?
  2. Brandon, I love the details you have added to the trunk and engine. You have inspired me to get back to my Charger and getherdone.
  3. Thanks guys, I had a feeling she would hit me where it hurts most. I saved my stash first because it was easier than packing each built car up for storage. 20/20 hind sight I would have been better off just throwing them into boxes un-protected. At least I would still have them. Woman can become extremely vengfull during a divorce. Believe me they go for anything they know will hurt you. I am sure there are some men out there that would do the same but from the stories I have heard it is standard for the women to get revenge. I didn't do anything I shouldn't have done, I just wanted out because it was a very bad scene. (Long story) Regardless, she didn't get the best of me and I am happy to be away from her. I don't think anyone gets into a relationship knowing that the other would do something like this. Now I build many kits and have great memories of the first, second, or third time I built them in the past. Moral of the story is, never let them get you down. I loved this hobby long before I met my ex-wife and will love the hobby for the rest of my life. To that I say "I do!" Rob
  4. Thanks, I managed to get my stash out of the house and into a storage unit so it wasn' t a complete loss. I wish I had done the same with my built kits but just didn't get around to it. It is amazing that you can't trust the person you married. In my case it was 20 years!
  5. Wow, that is a very cool display. It actually brings a tear to my eye. My finished model collection was destroyed during divorce. Along with many other things.
  6. They were really underated back in their day. Everyone was Mustang and Camaro hungry then and thought there was no way a V6 could out power a V8. I wish I had sprung for the one I drove that day. I had a 79 Cutlass to trade in which wouldn't have given me to much on a trade. The GN wasn't new but it had minimal miles on it. May have been a demo car or something like that. Cool think was the salesman told me to tromp on her to get the true feel of the car. Who am I to argue?
  7. I took one of them for a test drive back in 1987 and wow was I impressed. I was glad it had head rests in it otherwise my head would have been in the back seat.
  8. Count me in, I just have to decide what I want to build. Off to the stash I go.
  9. This all reminds me of a trip to the race track several years ago with my Mopar buddy. Cuda vs Camaro are at the line and my buddy turns to me and says watch this Cuda kick this Chevy's butt. Me being more partial to the Camaro I defended it's honour and supported Chevy's cause. Lights change and off the Camaro goes down the track. I turn and look for the Cuda and it is sitting at the starting line with the drive shaft laying on the ground. I said to my buddy "Holy ######, you were right! That Cuda was so fast it is already back at the starting line." We both had a good laugh that day.
  10. Those are awesome! I can't say I ever got bored with a build. I guess it is because I buy only what I am interested in. I have been frustrated to no end at times. Some of those kits met a very nasty ending.
  11. Your van reminds of an old nieghbour of mine. He had one darn near exact to that. Nice job! I haven't started on the chevy van or trailer yet. Been working on the JJ Vega. I am really surprised at the flash on this kit. The front clip fits like ###### and needs lots of sanding. I thought this was a new kit, not a re-pop. Thanks Ed for the tips on the van.
  12. The main reason I build model cars is it gives me the ability to own every car I have ever wanted. Just 24 - 25 times smaller.
  13. This looks like a lot of fun. Count me in if we are all still here. Rob
  14. When I drop it I can never find it. One exception to this rule, I role my chair back to find it an I run over it. Life as a modeller. This is a relaxing hobby!
  15. I'm with you brother. I didn't get my disability check on time for Christmas. I am still having a great day though. Never let them get you down! Rob
  16. Nice! I can't wait to get one of these. Merry Christmas everyone!
  17. I finished, 40+ bought. It is true, most of us are hoarders. I keep buying them with the intention to build them one day. I hope 2012 will produce more finished models than 2011. Heck, I need to finish 300 - 400 kits to make a dent.
  18. That is looking fantastic. I love that color. Great job on mixing the paint to get the color you wanted.
  19. I have the Paasche VL which I use for painting larger surfaces like car bodies and interiors. I have an Iwata Eclipse HP CS for more detailed work. The Paasche VL comes with 3 different needles and tips that allow you to go from very fine for detail to heavier for bodies etc. It is a great brush that isn't to expensive. It should serve you for many years. As for a compressor, I just grabbed a 3 gallon unit from my local auto supply store. It was on sale for $69.00 and it does the job fine. You may want to get a water trap to prevent small droplets of water in you paint caused by the compressor. Rob
  20. I haven't done this before but I like the idea. I am going to start right away. Rob
