  1. Great build. The engine compartment is top, but what takes the cake for me is the clear red on the steering wheel.

    AMT 1972 Corvette

Beautiful paint job. I have never built a single Corvette of any kind. Ever. And I have owned five of them in 1:1. Your build definitely makes me want to run and buy one to build right away.
  3. From what I read, this kit is going to be exactly what I expected and what was already leaked. Including the skeleton interior. I will most definitely build a few of these. I appreciate the scale of this project and I am very thankful for Revell's decision to bring this hot rod to us. But I still can't get over the choice of rear end. The '32 Fords were introduced like 20 years ago and progressed into five different body styles. They came with a variety of engine choices and few different wheel choices. And over all this time, nobody thought about changing the rear end. Not even when Revell made an all new tooling for these crazy good '29/'30s. They carried absolutely nothing from the previous kits, yet they decided to give us the same old generic rear end. I just don't get it.
  4. So this baby is done. I just have to trickle in the pictures. First the interior got its piping picked out in the same green as the body. Because it is an automotive paint, it dries flat. The floor was sprayed with some Krylon textured spray, to keep it eligible for a box stock class if I ever enter it in a contest. Thanks for looking and stay tuned…..
  5. Just a quick mock up after I painted the interior. I may add a little green accent piping, but have not decided on it yet. What bugs me is making decision on the grille. I don't want it chrome. But if I paint the insert black, like most '29s are done, it kind of gets lost and too dark. I did find pictures of some '29 rods that have the inserts in the grille silver, but I am hesitant to do it. Decisions, decisions…….
  6. The main thing I would like to find out is the rear arrangement of this Coupe kit. is it going to have the exact same rear end as in the 29 roadster? When is Revell finally going to give us a nice quickchange rear? Both a traditional leaf spring on axle and JAg type IRS quickchanges are looooong overdue. Is anybody listening over there?
  7. i love the color. Can't wait to see the engine done. What is it sourced from?
  8. This is a very well executed model. Killer paint and very clean and crisp over all.
  9. All three are very nice. Clean jobs.

    Four for 2015

I love the Camaro. Awesome color.
  11. And the chassis and drivetrain almost ready. Still needs front shocks, distributor and the rod connecting the front wheels.
  12. Actually there is a place where there is a challenger and another car…The World Rally Championship, where he gets his ass handed to him every year. I share your sentiment 100%. This video was more like a Dubai's sheikh commercial. My favorite also. Way better than this one.
  13. Yes, Tamiya gloss black decanted from a spray and through an airbrush.
  14. Thank you. The idea is to have a beige interior with dark green carpet, to kind of take a little away from all the chrome. It should balance things out.
  15. I bought three of the not so new anymore Revell '29 Roadster. I got them on three separate occasions from Lobby Hobby using their 40% off coupon. That comes to about "buy two get one free" status. So the first one I wanted to build "quick'n dirty", just to see how the whole thing comes together. I was painting a 1:18 diecast, so decided to use the occasion and the paint already loaded in my airbrush. Because I have like a million other projects, I challenged myself to finish this one in Five days. Today being day three. So, I thought it would be cool to make it box stock+ (not a fan of the wheels in the kit for this particular build), which is really not my thing at all, honestly. So here are the body and frame painted in a PPG Jaguar Green. It is a really dark but very rich green that looks almost black in most cases, but really comes alive once hit by light Then I thought that I don't want any graphics or crazy colors on this build, but if it is going to be box stock, then it needed something to shine with. And then it hit me. SHINE! So All the chassis, drivetrain and engine components are going to be chrome. Obviously I can not fit chrome plating in 5 days, so I decided to try my hand at Alclad. This is only my second time using it. And let's say that the first time was not one of my proudest moments. LOL Here are the components I did plated-on-a-budget Thanks for looking and stay tuned…..
  16. Both of these are primered, but that showed me some areas I need to address a little better. I am going to post up the build of the two models side by side, because it is interesting to see the different approaches Tamiya and Hasegawa took on two very, very similar models.
  17. Thank you for all the replies, guys. So, does anyone have the contact info for LMK? I would like to give them a buzz, but I can't find any contact info.
  18. hi, I need help with some chrome plating. I am not sure, but I think I remember reading somewhere there are two schools about it. One is using Chrome tech USA and the other using a different company that has a slightly different process (vacuum plating?). I have no clue about the differences in methods, but I need some things chrome plated in a hurry. Some of the parts are from plastic kits and some are resin castings that I have made. I have to say that I have used Chrometech USA before for some resin wheels I made and I had mixed feelings about the result, altho I was overall satisfied. So, please, any help, opinion or advise will be greatly appreciated. What is the best chrome plating service and where to find it? TIA P.S. Plaese, I don't need a lecture about Alclad, rubbing powders or black magic. Just the best chrome plating service available.
  19. Somehow my new thread got double posted. Would a mod please remove this one. TIA
  20. HI guys. Been a long time since I posted something on here, but I had a rather hectic few months. What I am working on now are two Ferrari F1 models in 1/20 scale. The 312t will be Niki Lauda's car with which he won the Brazilian race in 1976. The 312t3 is going to be the Villeneuve car with which he debuted his Ferrari career. As usual, I am starting with the bodies, so I can get them painted and put them aside to cure while I am working on the rest.
  21. Very nice. You just may want to adjust the title, as this is Niki's car from 1975.
  22. Yes, it is correct. The roof uses the rear section of the original. And thank you for the kind words.
  23. Thank you. Actually Boyd Coddington had few cars with hoods like that maybe a decade ago or more and I have used his idea on some previous models I have made in the past. In this particular case however, I prefer to have the vertical line.
  24. I have been crazy busy the last few months, but I manage to do just a little more work on this. Here is the final look of the body, which would now need a lot of sanding and smoothing, but you get the idea.
  25. Any news about the topic?
