  1. I have to agree this thing came out great, well executed.
  2. BTW, you wouldn't happen to have a link to a build thread or photos? I would love to see the build up, I'm sure others wouldn't mind seeing this beauty being built.
  3. WOW, just WOW! This thing is increditable, very nice work. Deserves every award it gets
  4. What a cool story, I wouldn't touch it either.
  5. I'd have to agree with Bartster. Really clean, nice work!
  6. Haha this is so awesome, the detail is getting ridiculous! I also thought you were going to lay down some gloss but your really pulling it off, rust and all. This has been a fun build to watch, cant wait to see her finished.
  7. This thing is just plain cool. Nice work!
  8. Thanks Doc, means a lot coming from the king of rust. Stay tuned, I'm doing the chop and doors tonight/tomorrow.
  9. I wanted to do something different with the grill so I thought a home made web grill would be cool. Paper clips and an old skull I had from an earring when I used to have some piercings. I wanted the web to look like it was coming off the skull and I changed the direction of the web at the bottom because I'm thinking about bringing the web onto the body. This is we're I stand as of right now. Tonight I'm chopping the top and hopefully tomorrow i can hing and cut the doors open. Opinions are always welcome.
  10. I wanted to add some strength so I added some gussets were the 2 frame pieces meet. I still have to clean up the frame I also shortened the back of the frame and removed the gas tank in order to get it lower. I'll mount the gas tank in the trunk later
  11. After pulling the band-aid off, I realized it wasn't so bad. So I thought I would try chopping the frame up. I found a simple way to Z the frame, I decided to just Z the rear frame for now so I can figure out the fender clearance.
  12. I put this build on hold for a while because I was to scared to cut into it. After a lot of brainstorming and driving myself crazy I decided to just start chopping. My main object is just to make everything flow but give it attitude. I decided to make this build my "first for everything build" so we're better to start then the rear fenders. I've seen this done a lot, in different ways, shapes and sizes but I wanted to make mine just a little different. I didn't want the whole running board so I cut the back halves off. Then drew some lines and cut the fender to look like a chopper/bobber fender. I left the spike extra long until I can figure out how I want it exactly but this gave me rough idea. I marked the body up where where the fenders are going to sit as far as I could go without messing up the body line The way I mounted the fenders was I took the fender from the opposite side then flipped it so the the back part of the fender was facing forward. So if your looking at it from the side it would look like the air would flow right over the back wheel.
  13. Can you post a link? I am dying to see this thing finished but I can't find it.
  14. Hey steve great build! Nice smooth suttle mods and blended very nicely. I like how you tucked the bed under the cab, makes a big difference.
  15. Really sweet job. I love the paint work, sets off those nice body lines.
  16. That thing is pretty cool. I love the exhaust
  17. If it were me I would go with the chrome ones, the black ones look a little to ricey.
  18. So Brizio's first photo shows the pie cut idea on the pillars but doing it this way can distort the look of the windows and pillars. He then did this example for me to show me how to solve the problem Still not sure how I'm going to go about it but I think I'll wait on it until I can figure out exactly how I want to attack it. Any one else have any other ideas I'm all ears.
  19. Welcome to the site, looks like a great build. I'll be keeping an eye on this one. Check out the community part of the forum, there is a rat rod community build going on till July, anyone can join if your interested.
  20. The heart and lace will look great with the theme. You should lay some lace down on the outside, spray over it, then peel it up. Would look sick
  21. I saw this today and thought about this build. http://www.americanpinupburlesquefest.com/
  22. So after all the inspiration from your 49 builds and others I dug the kit out and came up with a cool concept for when I'm ready but better yet it also helped solve a problem I was having with a current build. Just wanted to say thanks
  23. So after looking at your build and looking at how you used those big rims it sparked an idea for some big rims and a merc I have sitting around so I wanted to thank you for the inspiration.
  24. Really nice build. The rims look pretty sick, I was surprised to see you didn't have to cut out the wheel wells. Look forward to the rest of the build.
