Flame Decals *Update 6-7-12 w/ Photos*
JasonFL replied to JasonFL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the help, I'm certain it wasn't a corvette though. Had the body of a late 60s early 70s chevele, nova, malibu, something along those lines. Thanks anyways -
Flame Decals *Update 6-7-12 w/ Photos*
JasonFL replied to JasonFL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thankyou for looking but I don't believe this was the kit. I came across this myself last night while looking, the flames dont look the same and I'm not sure it's the right body style. thanks again for trying. -
I have been trying to remember all the kits I had as a kid, so far so good but I got to this one car I just can't figure out what it was. All I remember is that it had these killer solid black flames outlined in yellow, a cowl induction hood like a 69 camero, chrome 5 spoke mag rims, and it was white (probably not painted, just out of box) I know it was a muscle car and im pretty sure it was a Chevy of some sort. Im thinking malibu, chevelle, nova, etc. I can't seem to find any photos of anything similar so if anyone could help me out in any way I'd appreciate it.

This is a great looking merc. It's gonna look even better then the last one you built. I like how you smoothed everything out, can't wait to see where you take this -

32 Ford Ratrod/Hotrod? (updated w/ pics 6-3-12)
JasonFL replied to JasonFL's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the support. I'm on hold until I can figure out what wheel combo I want to use. I'm also having trouble with a few other things so it's going a lot slower then expected. On a good note I did how ever come up with a name. I figure since this is my first time attempting all these mods I shall call it, " Cherry Poppin' ". Not sure if it's to inappropriate but if so just let me know I'll change it. here's some mock up photos Stock 32' steelies just don't look right The ford tires I love the look of the 49' merc rims they just aren't wide enough. Merc tires (bad angle) Was thinking of using the other 49' merc rims for the front Thanks for looking, opinions always welcomed. -

That is a great color, is it the lime ice? It's really coming together nicely, the decals really set it off. -

Need info on how to "z" a frame
JasonFL replied to cchapman195's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I used this tutorial for my 32 5 window and it worked out great, you can always add your little touches here and there. I'm sure if you search on here there are plenty of examples of Z'ing. good luck http://cs.scaleautomag.com/SCACS/forums/t/94528.aspx -
HOG VETTE! DW Style T/F Corvette Dragster! Update: 6-9-12
JasonFL replied to Ira's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Moving right along. I didn't notice this before until you put it into primer but I love how those panel lines carry onto the body, over the rear wheels and on the roof. I almost would rather just see it in a solid color so you don't lose all these beautiful lines but it's not gonna matter either way, it's gonna look killer. I'm excited to see it coming all together -
'70 Chevelle 2012 Revell-Gearz entry, in April 'other' mag: whoopee!
JasonFL replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in Model Cars
Sweet, I look forward to seeing them done. Should we give you some sort of deadline to help you turn out some more great work? lol So do you have any build pages? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see your work -
Your girl must of scored some major points when she brought that home for ya. What a cool kit, I really can't wait to see what you do with this one. You going shine or rust? Whatever you pick I'm sure you'll do it justice, I'll be keeping my eye on this one along with the others.

JasonFL replied to bryan_m's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great looking build! Nice details -
So what happened to these 2 great builds? I was really excited to see how they turned out. Some really clean work, I like your style.

I was just looking at the photos thinking the same thing. Everything flows torwards the back then the skirts are pointing the other way. I would suggest what rob said and reverse them and maybe straighten the bottom of the skirts to match. Just a suggestion but other then that it's a great build, some cool ideas.

I love flames. I think flames should be on just about everything. Very nice merc, clean!
