  1. That thing is just sick! What a great build, I can only imagine how your other builds would turn out. I hope you find some more inspiration for your other projects.
  2. Welcome to the site. That's a great first build, love the motor and color choice.
  3. Glad your feeling better Bryan, looking forward to seeing more progress.
  4. Ahh ok, that makes sense. Well I'm loving your ideas, can't wait to see it all finished, keep it up.
  5. Really cool build, love the tiki theme
  6. I wasn't sure about the rod you added but after seeing it painted I'm really diggin it. Excited to see where your taking this one.
  7. This thing is awesome, I love what your doing with it. That strip of plastic on the top really ties it in nicely and the supercharger looks mean but I only have one question, how come your not using the whole motor?
  8. Well said. After viewing this post I went and did some research to see what the original car looked like and as impressed as I was with the original car, I have to say that your shuttle changes made the car. I agree with Zed, it's more a tribute then a clone.
  9. Thanks Rob, I'm not sure why I didn't see your post before. Sorry about that but I appreciate the compliment. Thanks Brodie. The only thing I might suggest is putting some sort of clear/sealer after you get the look you want, so as not to leave any fingerprints. Good luck with your project, post up pics of the results when you get done. I'd like to see how it come out.
  10. I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe ill get something done this weekend.
  11. The no hood = topless? Haha love all the details doc. It was a lot of fun watching you build this one. I look forward to the next crazy build. Thanks for sharing
  12. Couldn't sleep so I messed around with mocking the roof up
  13. Thanks Ron and Ian. I cut the doors out with the back of my exto blade and just took my time. It took a lot of patients but it was well worth it. I'm thinking of strengthening it with some rod later.
  14. Next step: door panels/jams, finish bottom part of chop, hinge trunk, and finish the fenders. Then we'll see from there. Let me know what you all think.
  15. The doors cut out clean so I started on the hinges. I found a tutorial (thanks to Romell R http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=31793) on doing hinges this way and just thought it was really clean and simple. I took the plastic tubing that was used on an old r/c car that held up the antenna, cut a piece off then cut it in half to give it a nice tight fit. Allows the doors to open into the body and you can take them off whenever you want with ease.
  16. So while waiting for the pieces to dry on the top I wanted to get the doors cut out. The doors had to flow with everything else so that ment making a new door lines. The first time cutting the doors out wouldn't be as easy as following the door line so I put some tape down as a guide, worked out pretty well I think.
  17. 3rd step I marked off my post and chopped em' down. 4th step i cut the middle of the roof out, got rid of the middle post, and cleaned it up. 5th step I realized after mocking it up (forgot to take pics) that I cut to much out of the rear post so I took the pieces I cut out, shaved them down about half the size then glued them back in place.
  18. Chopping the top. I of coarse wanted a slanted chop top so my first chop wasn't going to be as easy as just chopping and dropping. After making a post and talking to a few different members I went with the way I thought would be best to give me the slanted chop. Thanks to Brizio and others for all the help and ideas. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=57448&st=0&p=679519&#entry679519 1st step I did was mark everything off in green that was being cut out. 2nd step I took the back of my blade and cut the top clean off.
  19. Thanks, i cant take credit for the idea, this tutorial was a big help. http://cs.scaleautomag.com/SCACS/themes/sca/forums/thread.aspx?ThreadID=94528 Thanks everyone else,I'm posting more photos in a few mins.
  20. Bryan, I appreciate it but I beat you to it. I was checking out your site all last night. All your tutorials have been really helpful and d*mn creative. I have the same pins I wanted to use as a shifter but never thought of painting it like that. BTW that skull hood ornament is killer!
  21. Man this thing is sweet. I like that this thing looks stock but with just a hint of custom. Nice stance and I love the 8 ball. Keep it coming!
  22. That seems brilliant! Although I've never seen/used glue like that out of a bottle. I've only used the testors glue out of the tube but if I ever come across that glue im going to have to try this. Btw, the way you cut that grill out was pretty cool to. This looks like a good build, I like the chop. I'm excited to see we're your going to go with this.
  23. WOW! Really nice job, that thing is sweet. The front and rear end are killer, great work.
  24. Really like this 34, nice color choice
