This has been a long awaited rebuild project. It's actually a rebuild of a rebuild. The original was completed way back in 97 and was not anywhere near my best work since I was still honing my skills (which is a never ending process) then I rebuilt it around 2006 and I was still not happy with the results so here is the third incarnation of this build, completed. The trailer is still in the works and I just posted the beginnings of the rebuild on the race truck that will go with this in the drag section.

Here is the wip rebuild of the A100 drag truck that will go with my dually and Galaxie trailer. It is being done in a Super Gas or Comp. Eliminator style. The body is a Jimmy Flintstone chopped A100 and the chassis is being upgraded to resemble something a little more accurate than what I had originally built so many years ago. In the pics below all of the styrene in white is all new pieces being added. I also cut open the doors to be hinged later on.

Another excellent build from you sir.

My wife wouldn't let me add the "wench". There is a dog in the back seat though, but I didn't focus in any pictures of it for fear someone would complain that I didn't open any windows. -

Thanks Kurt. Yes, I added the brake cables along with a rear brake caliper that was not present on the bike. There's one for the front however. -
I've been kind of all over the map in my building as of late, trying to finish long started projects that have been sitting around for years. The latest completion is a Tamiya Jeep Grand Cherokee that I started on years ago. It has a scratchbuilt suspension lift, American Satco tires, homemade and old Nascar sheet graphics and some small little scratchbuilt add ons like the brush guard and winch mounting plate. The rooftop accessories are from an old Fujimi detail set. The paint is Dupli color Ice White and Dupli color Chrysler Platinum.

I did this one last year using the Slixx decals and had no problem. A little solv-a-set and I was in business. Not trying to rub it in or anything but to show that it can be done and to reinforce the notion that as a lot of us have found over the years that Slixx decals can be challenging at times and and others they are no problem. They have had some inconsistent batch runs throughout the years. Not to say that they are bad decals because they're not but every once in a while you can have two of the same decal and one goes on flawlessly while the other gives you fits. Keep at it and I'm sure you will be successful.

Excellent build. Super clean and sits just right.

Great job. These decals are definitely not for the faint of heart. They will surely make you appreciate most other decaling jobs. For what you have to go through with these I think you did a superb job.

Here is my latest in progress build. This is the 99 Bill Elliott QPC McDonald's Taurus using an old school set of Three Amigos decals that I've had in my stash for a number of years. Been wanting to knock this one out for the longest time and I finally decided to to get it done. Decals went on great. The hood decal was the hardest to play with. Also, these decals are not designed to be a complete set. You have to come up with your own contingencies (which wasn't difficult) and a few other odds and ends, like the white contingencies that appear on the lower rear body section. I found something suitable on an old Mark Martin Valvoline Slixx sheet from 96. I also found a good picture of the car as it ran at Pocono in 99 and they ran a pinkish colored tape on the grill and front valance. I was able to sacrifice an Exide decal sheet from a Revell top fuel kit that was a pretty close match in color. I was able to cut up the decal in sections for the areas needed.I also lowered the front valance with some added styrene and cut open the grills so that I could use an old Model Car Garage photo etch set that I had.

Awesome update John. Superb detailing. -
Any update on a possible release date on these kits? Haven't heard anything in a while.

I'm not saying that the arguements here are not valid in any way but from what I've seen so far this is the only forum that has taken a hardline stance from certain members at negative reviews of this new product. Everywhere else that I'm listening in I seem to hear a lot of enthusiastic folks excited about this kit. And now that it is released I'm seeing loads of facebook posts of people happy to have their new kit(s) in hand. Now we'll just have to wait and see how well received this first release really is. Honestly, I don't have a dog in this fight as this first release doesn't spark any interest from me. That being said, I'm rooting for this new company to be successful enough to continue with future releases in hopes that they will introduce some that I can't live without, like maybe a 78 Magnum. Like I said, we'll just have to wait and see.

Great job. Detail and finish work came out very good. Tell me though, why did you go through the effort to alter the rear wheelwells? You said that you pulled research photos to mimic but I've never seen any pics of that car with wheelwells that looked like that.

Thanks guys. When I first envisioned this build I wasn't sure what to expect as the plan pretty much came together as I went. Now that it's done I couldn't be any more happy with the outcome. -

Calling this one done. Yes, I still have to add the clear coat for it to be 100% complete but I'm waiting for better weather before going forward with that. Meanwhile, it looks close enough for finish pics.
