What is Sacred is, uh, Sacred
Fuel Coupe replied to FloridaBoy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
very good subject. Down here where I'm from we NEVER NEVER NEVER touch others models. I have never had an incident where my models were broken or mishandled at a contest. Judges aren't allowed to touch either. I use stands with mirrors under mine so the undercarriage can be seen.if something is missed on my model while being judged I'm fine with it. I would rather my hard work survive a judging than have it mishandled. Years ago we would do displays at the local mall to drum up new membership. that's when trouble began. more times than not children didn't try to pick up the models, It was generally the parents or adults that would mishandle them. Generally we would just ask them to politely put down the model and then proceed to talk with them and put them at ease so's not to send them away with a bad impressing of modelers. It almost always worked... -

Union Roll Call
Fuel Coupe replied to Frank Steffens's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
While we're not union there are some rumblings in the wings. Happy Labor day to all. Im working today. Its my Birthday. and Hurricane Gustav just made landfall a few miles down the 10 from us. What a day... -
With the recent fallout on the Arrowhead thread its come to my attention that there arent too many aftermarket parts venders around anymore. S&S Specialties was one of my favorite companies to buy photoetch stuff from. Now, Gone... I found Arrowhead must have bought up the S&S negatives as they had alot of there stuff under their logo. Now, Questionable. Machined Aluminum Specialties. Probably some of the coolest stuff out there. Photoetched wheelie bar kits, Blower drive sets, Complete detailing systems for blown and Nitrous pro mods. not to mention the wheel sets. No longer taking orders. I realize alot of it is economy. I guess what I'm asking is who besides Detail master and Model Car Garage is still doing this stuff. Im in need of Machined aluminum Blower drive sets and not too many folks are doing them anymore... Whos machining wheels JPS, who else. Detail master doesnt have a supplier for their wheel systems and stock has dwindle to nothing. As some of you know Im a bit of a detail junkie. I need my fix!!!

Arrowhead Aluminum Accessories
Fuel Coupe replied to stump's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I really hate hearing this. I was actually getting comfortable buying from them on eBay. I had bought 3 times from the successfully . I have been watching for them to put some more stuff on and I was going to hit them big as it looks as if he has some of S&S old photoetch stuff which I have always loved. If you are sure you have passed the time frame to claim a refund all you can do is hit them with neg feedback. I think you only have 60 days for that though I hope SOMEONE here can help as I dont have any othet way to contact them than you. Maybe you can bite the bullet and call to see whats going on. I know its expensive but it may help things along. Really sorry man.... -
Has anybody heard of Draggin Plastic?
Fuel Coupe replied to Blu_Hawke's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Just my 2 cents. I think I bought from this guy under the name xcytabl36. I actually made two seperate purchases from him: one by m.o. and the other by Paypal. He even held off shipping the items so we could combine shipping them. I was very pleaseed with the parts I got. fast and acurate. I dont know you guys tell me if its him. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=270258626236 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=270259385116 -

Thanks Harry for posting that pic. I have limited access to the internet while at work so I wasnt sure if it was my computer or not. I'll post one from my home computer this evening... Yes these cars were violent to say the least. 91 inch wheelbase and poor traction made for one helluva ride. with the advent of the slipper clutch things came under control some, but not much...

Thank you very much... I tried to replicate the car as close as I could but I wiil admit I took a few "privileges" along the way... Other than on video I have never seen the car run in this version. Altereds have always peaked my interests and Richs cars were the top of the food chain. Very simple and purpose built. Next would be Mike Sullivans altereds. Yes the radiator is the fuel tank in this version. there was an earlier verion that ran a "buggy Spring" with a Moon Tank mounted under the grill shell. and then of course the Hemi era with the football tank out in the wind. One version had a small catch tank with radiator hoses coming from the valve covers down to it. wild vent system... Theres a few details left to finish like breathers on the valve covers and a few others.

First, thanks for the comments next, heres a side shot of Pure hell. in this version you can see the mounts and the way they were designed. there was also a diagnal rod( which I will be adding as well) The idea was to allow the engine to raise up in the frame to allow more weigh transfer. Just incase anyone was intrested in the crazy engine mounts even in todays modern fuel cars the front mount is held in place with a strap. the mid mount takes all the stress...
