  1. Man! That is a deep clear. What did you clear it without? It all looks Great!
  2. Thank you, Carl. I worked a little bit more on this engine. Added the hoses and leaving them long since I'm still not sure where I'll be mounting the radiator. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I drilled some holes for the nozzles. I do have some questions for you guys though. For the fuel lines, in the middle of the intake, here's what I've worked on so far. The question for you all is, are the fuel lines too thin? The one from the metering valve to the fuel pump, I'm planning on a thicker line. 3. Yeah I know what you mean, bud. But this one will have the bed. I'm thinking a future project should work that way. Here is the work I've done this weekend. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  4. Richard Gelens! Whoa! This is a mighty fine building. Will follow it through. Very creative and it all seems to fit better and better after every modification.
  5. Thanks Richard. After another member kindly explained my mistake on this engine, I fixed it...I think. Still needs some work but should look more accurate. The rest of it coming together slowly. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  6. Have made a few changes to the engine. Filled in the gapes on each side of the intake. Here's where I'm at with it. I'm thinking a rear mounted radiator should do the trick. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  7. Thanks All. Small update on this one. The chassis is starting to come together. Hosted on Fotki
  8. Thanks Carl and Dan. Not sure which one of these I will use but I did get some painting done. We've hit the high 70s so the weather is perfect in the evenings for paint. Even though this is the third one of these, it'll be the first one I finish. I'm using it to get familiar with the kit for the gold one and the rat rod versions. Going with a two tone. I was torn between doing this one a full on farm truck with rust and dents and animals or doing a show truck. So I'm going to try and do something in between....whatever that is. Lol. Black and green is what I'm going with. Here are some pics of where it's at.
  9. This looks great! Nice job on it all. Aargh. My neck!!
  10. Thank Richard. Will come back to the body a bit later. Moved to the engine. It's gotten flat black, gloss black, Spaz Stix Ultra Chrome and a clear coat. Still needs a wash to make it look dirty, possible some work for a bit of rust.
  11. This is the 3rd 40 Ford truck I am working on. Since I was working on the engine for the Rat Rod, I figured I'd put these together as well. They are flathead engines from a 48 Merc. This kit is worth it just for the engine, actually. Not too detailed but nothing alittle after market parts cant fix. Still needs some more details but its whee I left off tonight.
  12. After more sanding, more putty and more primer here's where we're at. A little more shaping and it will be ready.
  13. Thanks guys. Afte the previous post I joined the fenders with the cab to test the doors and hood. It looks like the hood was going to end up with a gap between it and the cab so I took some styrene and will close that gap.
  14. That looks good Glen. Your chop is much cleaner than mine. Gives me an idea for one of my other ones. I think for this one here, I'm going go without the fenders.....maybe?
  15. So here's the 2nd one f these I'm building at the same time. I will be getting a lot of ideas and inspiration from this here. Although it won't be an exact copy, I like a lot of what I see. Mold lines have been sanded. An unlikely place to start but first I removed the louvers and the V8 emblems at the tip of the hood.
  16. Thanks Wayne and Richard. Thanks Carl - remember I'm building three of these at the same time. Small update. Added some pieces of plastic, a bit of baking soda with superglue and then some squadron putty. After a bit or sanding, sprayed with a coat of primer. Not too bad I think.
  17. Man I like this one just the way it looks now. Add a windshield, the rear glass and some headlights and put it on the shelf! It has some street cred, already!
  18. Thanks Carl. Have been sanding and filling the body. So a lot of that this morning. It's getting there. Picked out an engine for it I think. Stole the engine from a 36 5 window Ford. A 421 cu V8. Added a hillborn style intake from Parts by Park. I think that should make this baby move.
  19. So theme for that contest is Hot/Rat Rods. Not too difficult. Here's what I did. Almost a 6 inch chop. Still needs some work for sure but its on its way. Starting a thread for the other 1940 soon as I've decided what to do with it.
  20. Thanks everyone. My favorite build last year.
  21. I cleaned up the mess that the wagon caused me to make and added two more kits to the bench (so that makes a total of 37 lol). I did this with my 53 Ford pickups and so I will also do it here. Same make and model, different style of builds. One is for an anniversary build over at my home forum. But anyways, so far all I've done is clean up some mold lines. The older kit had some thick one but the re-release ones were more subtle. They still had to go! The other thing I did was give the chrome parts a wash with Tamiya smoke to get rid of the fake shiny chrome. This is he first time I try this and it seems easier and quicker than stripping the chrome then painting with Alcladd or Spaz Stix which I've both done. First pic is one tree without it and the second with. Will probably need another coat. This works great as a wash also, it seems.
  22. It's always fun to build the same year and make in different ways. I'll be following this one. Great job so far.
  23. Don't close it until the stuff arrives. As a matter of fact don't close it at all. Let the burden fall on them. They have to prove to PayPal that they shipped and it was delivered. Mall you have to do is wait. Glad I read all this. Had been thinking of ordering a few things.
