I`m another Duplicolor fan. The hi-build primer filler is a godsend when doing extensive bodymods.

What Would You Show Up In?
A.R.C. replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I`d still show up on the bike but I`d go for a money is no object ride first and see how many police cars I could get behind me by the time I arrived. -

<p>This baby. And I`d ride it right straight up the red carpet and right to my seat. -
Totally cool!! That Vicky is one of my favorite models. You can do such bad things to it.

Since most of us here are Maverick fans heres a couple links( if you haven`t seen them allready) to a cool Maverick photo thread and a Maverick club site. Some nice rides there. I like Mavericks, they`re a cool little car that I like the looks of and it can be built into a killer street machine. One of the best things about them is that you can buy one in pretty good condition for next to nothing. For the price to just buy a beat up shell of any classic musclecar you could build a dam fine custom Maverick. http://www.pro-touri...ck-photos/page2 http://mmb.maverick....display.php?f=1

I`ve always really liked Mavericks and Comets, especially the V8 versions. We had a 1970 2 door Mav (not a Grabber) with a 302 when I was a kid. My Dad was always getting on the throttle with it. 3 days after Christmas my G/F came home with 2 built it yourself 1/24 die casts for me. A standard model 2 door Maverick and a Comet GT. They come completely disassembled and primed for paint. She found them at Londone Drugs in the discount bins for $5 each. It made my whole day. Ones going to be a highly modded Corvette Killer and the other I will build stock in homage to a very cool, very under rated car.

Its all in good fun Patrik, no worries. Besides, those old bathtubs are pretty quick in a straight line as well, I really like them. Catching you is going to be like trying to run over a mouse. I better stop flapping my gums and at least get my beast out of the box.

Very cool. From the words I could pick out in the article its a portable DJ booth for Ski events. http://www.kaeferblo...oamtc-raupenbus

So your telling me that a 3500 pd 57 Fairlane with skinny bias ply tires and slicks on the back with a supercharged small block is only good on a straight line? Pfffffffftttttt.

A Speedster is gonna be a nice addition to the pack. With all the big iron rolling down the road for this race your gonna feel awfully small...better wear a good helmet Im getting closer to starting my Fairlane....I looked at the box yesterday I was all ready to start on it then I got a g/c to the Hobby shop for my birthday. Paid a visit and got sidetracked by a Meyers Manx. Soon.

RAT ROD GRIND HOUSE
A.R.C. replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Anytime Doc. It`s not a "traditional" rat in the fact that its a pretty highdollar car, but it sure looks the part. Since the first time I saw it in Hot Rod I`ve reallllly liked it. -

Cool builds Jarius. I`m guessing the open exhaust off of an inline six right beside the drivers head is what woke the dead guy that driving it? -

Cant see how the Bieber girl is even remotely close to Rats. I think if he showed up to perform at a RatRod show he`d get beat up. Beiber is better suited to one of those Bozozuki Japanese flying cars like in the other thread. I love a well built rat. Some that are out there are total abominations, just like in any other genre, but there seems to be more in the Rat culture,I think because you can get away with it. Any model I do a custom build on is built exactly how I would build that car in 1:1 if I could. The Vicky in my Avatar is one I call Dirty Vicky. Of all the customs models I have built and dreamed about building for real, she is the one I would want in my driveway the most. My neighbors would hate it and I`d make sure they would hate it every day -

photoshopping in the giant ruler beside real parts isn`t fooling any of us, but nice try. -
Love it in Gold!! Nice work. I`ve had this same model for years. Got it when it first came out, must be 18-20 years ago now. Its still one of my favorites.

The paint looks great BK, but Erik is right. GM didnt intro that wheel until the late 60`s.
