  1. That looks evil.....I dig it.
  2. A blown 55 gasser.....yeah, thats Mickey mouse. Looks b.a. Andy!!!
  3. A very fine ride MLM. Nothings ever wrong with a classy old Vette.
  4. Thanks for running this Slant, it was a good time. Its a shame to hear you wont be making the start line. I was looking forward to see the Dart.
  5. Excellent work Niko. I really like it. That engine compartment is a work of art.
  6. Awww shucks....thanks guys. I had to push myself to get it finished, but it was fun.
  7. Awesome builds Zen and Luna. Really like them both!! Mines no beauty queen. I intentionally went the stripped down to as light as possible, lived a rough life streetracer look (hopefully of that era) with as bad a motor as one can build. Removed all the trim, drilled trim mount holes then did not so great bodywork to fill them in. Semi gloss clear over hot rod grey primer and a flat black hood gave it the tough look I was wanting. So take a street racer, put a big tank in it, throw some spares in the back, "borrow" a few license plates for the upcoming trip and you have a tough as nails race car that take on anyone in its path. This was fun. It actually helped chill me out and relax from a very hectic, busy summer, I`m glad I jumped back in. Good luck everyone.
  8. Thats a beauty Luna. Looks like a vehicle that would have been on dispay at a world expo back then. Very cool! I do something similar to Aaron for attaching headlights. I`ve used Tamiya clear for years now and have always had good luck. I paint the area the lens will be sitting then paint the entire backside of the lens itself and put it in place. It dries pretty fast and holds very well.
  9. Very cool!! I really dig the bed.
  10. I`m right behind you guys. Got the hood scoop done. Got the exhaust done, its a little loud but it suits the subtlety of the rest of the car. The really big gas tank is in place. Just did a little custom lettering with a very tiny pen and have now got it in the decal jig for the evening. Got a selection of stolen plates resting comfortably beside me and a couple spares where the back seat use to be and it`ll be ready to smile pretty for the camera sometime tomorrow......possibly .
  11. I agree with Ramfins. The speed at which you get things done is as impressive as your builds. The rolling dyno truck you built would have taken me 5 years. Nice work btw. Look forward to the end.
  12. I like that a lot! Killer paint job, love the stripes within the stripes.
  13. What a good looking car. Nice job Bogger.
  14. The plan was to be done the brunt of things today with just a few small detail to attend to tomorrow...............right. So 3 feet from the finish line I put the body on only to notice that the air filter and pressure box are much higher than the hood. My fault. I made the new filter and restyled the plumbing to the airfilter; the pressue box is their fault; and assumed I would have clearance....Duh. One really big hood scoop to go please...and put a rush on it.
  15. Tick tock, tick tock. tick tock..... Gotta a motor built, now I just need something to put it in.
  16. Cool 70`s!! My first bike was a 1970 Trail 70. Got it when I was 10 and sold it when I was 18. I had many other fast mx bikes during that time but the 70 was always my favorite. I regret selling it to this day.
  17. Looking good 409! I really like that 300 badge.
  18. I`ve used it quite a bit with good luck after some experimentation. Before I figured it out I didnt like it at all. The trick is to lay down multiple coats before you paint over it. One coat is an absolute pain to remove much like Mike experienced. I put down 4 coats and let it dry overnight before I do anything to it and have always had good luck with that way of doing it. I dont use it often but its nice to have for masking small items or surfaces with complex curves. I`ve also put down 6 coats and have good results with cutting out designs on it when its that thick and it still leaves a very thin edge when removed. Make sure you remove it before the paint cures completely hard, much like you would with a masking tape.
  19. Dont let these opportunists take advantage of you Andy. They just want to scam you for a free model. I`ll pay you $1,000,000 per unit. Send me what you`ve got and I`ll mail a check as soon as I receive them.
  20. I bought a tube of Super Glue for every two kits and 3 cases of flat black paint. I figure if this is armageddon I wont need any color other than flat black. Im good to go!!!
  21. I feel like I`m in an episode of Car Warriors. I`m going to finish this thing with about 6 seconds left.
