  1. I'd like to get the Scirocco and Brat kits. They both look pretty nifty.
  2. Time, Tools and Tunes. That says it all.
  3. Dan, on the issue with the nose, what about using rare earth magnets to hold the nose in place when it's closed? That's what I used to hold the doors shut on my 58 T-Bird and it works well.
  4. Nice first build! I tend to paint some things first and then build, but like Foxer said, some have to painted after assembly. I do a lot of brush painting (mainly because I haven't gotten the swing of mixing for the airbrush yet) and don't run into many problems. I use a lot of Testor's Acryl line and craft acrylics, and lately I've been using some Citadel paints.
  5. Welcome back!
  6. I mix a lot of paints for brushing on. My handiest containers are for keeping the mixed paints. I use the bottle caps from 20 oz. Coke/Pepsi bottles to mix in. I found that the light blue bottle caps from Evian water would snap onto the pop bottle caps and seal tightly. My mixed paints will store for weeks to months. Only issue I've found is that the more recent Evian caps may not have as long a leader at the bottom below the threads, and may not snap on now.
  7. Music Drawing Garage kits (anime characters) Reading PC gaming Board games and RPG's
  8. Looking really good. Gonna have this one at the meeting?
  9. I'd just take some styrene and re-radius the fenders. Shouldn't be too hard.
  10. Wow! Really nice work.
  11. Got a 1/20 Dodge Stealth R/T Lindberg kit in today. I'm excited about this one.
  12. What material is that? Outstanding work.
  13. Really sorry to hear this, Brian. I'm glad you and your family are all okay. You all take care of each other, and I hope the insurance company is generous.
  14. I've got the convertible. The engine looks okay when built, definitely better than the Monte Carlo they did. It builds up pretty decent overall. There's a really nice PE kit for it available on Model Car Garage. The main issue I had with this kit and most of their other ones is that the markings and logos that are normally etched onto the body are REALLY subpar. The frame/chassis and suspension look really good.
  15. This. Especially on my first post on here, the Galaxie 48 Chevy Fleetline. I didn't notice until AFTER I posted that one of the windshield wipers had flipped off and was lying on the fender. Duh!
  16. Depends on the build. Sometimes I've got a clear picture of what I want to do with a kit. Once in a while I need something to jog my creativity or if I'm not clear how something goes together. I did a lot of research on the dash for my 1971 Charger R/T to convert it to a base model.
  17. 1/24-1/25 generally. Although I wouldn't be opposed to some of the Lindberg 1/20 scale kits. I loved the S-10 and Dodge Stealth back in the day and would love to have replacements.
  18. I've been using Turtle Wax scratch and swirl remover. It's been working really well.
  19. I WILL have this kit when it comes out. I'm pretty sure I've got a flathead in my stash. Looks like it'll be a beauty.
  20. I like it! It looks more like a Zimmer, but it's cool.
  21. Nice work, looks really good.
  22. I build box stock sometimes, do some customizing and I've done a little scratch building so far. Even a little kit bashing. Just depends on how the kit moves me.
  23. I've used duplicolor and Testor's both. Testor's lacquers work really well, and Duplicolor is a great value since it's typically in larger cans.
