Just goes ta show ya, there's one born every minute! Some folks got more money than sense! Looks like he paid 292.00 bucks OVER retail!
-
Steve, thanks for the info, an Bill, I don't think Ray makes a 98, I THINK it was bein used as a comparison. But I wouldn't mind have either of 'em!
-
Kev, that's cause it's just as BIG and ritzy as a Caddy! But yep they's both Olds's around mid-80's, but exact years, I don't know. We started building Oldsmobiles on our Cadillac assembly line in 1984, and man, was THAT a shock! For 75 years we built Cadillacs at the old Fleetwood Plant, and when we had to start runnin Olds's,we ALL knew the end was near. Fleetwood permanantly closed down in 1988.

Bob, doesn't one of the armor companys make a Kubel wagen or something like that? Maybe one could be converted to a "Thing". They were nuttin but flat panels anyway, might not be too hard a conversion. I think you could pull it off, with your talent. Give it a shot, I think you'd get alot of"OOOOOh, THAT'S COOL" outta it. -

Harry, sadly I have to agree with you. On the show I saw them on, Joe Jackson was saying how they were enjoying being able to play with their cousins an other children of their age, and were happy being children, which is as it should be. But then I think, well the Jacksons sure ain't your TYPICAL American family anyways. Maybe they should go back to their mother, even if she didn't have anything to do with their rearing, as she REALLY is the only BLOOD family those poor kids have. -

Ya know I saw those kids on tv the other day, and those children are WHITE! There's NO Black blood in the kids I saw. If he had fathered those children, they could NOT escape that genetic fact! Micheal was a black man, until he PURPOSELY altered his features. I have nothing against interacial marriges, in fact my wife is German/Irish,with blonde hair and blue eyes, and I myself have dark skin color, black hair and brown eyes. Joy is a combination of our 2 genetic backrounds, an if you saw her pic, she looks light a light skinned mexican. If those babies were TRUELY of his sperm, they would have SOME trace of HIS genetic backround also, but THOSE children ARE WHITE! Look at the rest of his family who DIDN'T alter their apperance, and tell me there is a family resemblance. Not nice to say, but MONEY can buy ANYTHING, and this is just more proof of that. I hope those kids do get to be with his family, as it's probly as close to a normal life as they'll ever get. I feel for them now, NOT Micheal. Regardless of his fame, he was still a freak and a pedophile! -
Kevin, YES by all means put skirts on that barge! It'll make it look even LOWER! Do they come with the kit,or do ya gotta make 'em? From what I remember they had a few compound curves around the wheelhouse area, so ya might have your work cut out for ya. If nothin else, it'll make ya a better modeler, and make that car downright mean lookin! Go for it!
-
Which is kinda stupid, if ya ask me, when Steve Kolher overt Star Models sells 'em for 53.00 + 8.00 shipping! He gets 'em straight from Ray, with the convenience of haveing him call you when they come in! Ya can't beat a deal like that. The only reason I make out on them is caz I buy them directly from Ray at the toyshows he attends twice a year here.He sells them for 40.00 bucks at the shows. Even if they do need extra clean-up, it's worth it to me, and their at a price I can live with.

Bill, Fred Travalena? wasn't he the comedian that looked kinda like Jay Leno? I do remember him, although I hadn't heard about him in quite some time! Yeesh, waz goin on? could the Aztecas been right about the end of the world comin in 2012? Isnt it supposed to happen in August of 2012? Oh,well, Never been to an end of the world before,it may prove to be interesting, just like when it turned 2000 an the planes an stuff were supposed to fall out of the sky's, an all the worlds computers would shut down! Sounds like another normal day in Paradise! -
I gotta agree wit Mr.Moto, the restyled fenders is da MOOK!!! They really came out NICE! Personally, I woulda frenched the taillights so they wouldn't look like little nipples stickin out there, but that's just me, All in all, a REALLY NICE biuld!

Bill, I have this kit from back around 67 or so. I never built it cas I never liked it! Originally it was molded in ORANGE! My sister bought it for me for my birthday. 14th or 15th if I remember correctly. It was then converted to the solid sides van(no windows), an then to the little hippie van with flared rear wells. It was 1/25th scale, is it still? I would imagine it's a whole new mold, as the original must been modded to make the other stylles. I'll hafta dig the old one out and compare them. -

Mardup or whatever that means. YOU are NOT speakin for ANYONE BUT YOU!!!!! Don't push your unwanted opinions on US!!!!! There is NO room for people like that here! You either learn to play nice, or there's a CHANCE you MAY NOT be allowed to play here. I haven't heard anyone putting YOUR stuff down, why do you feel the need to berate others? It's just a MODEL, but it DOES bring out your EXTREMLY NEGATIVE personality. If you don't like it, that's fine, to each his own,but the majority of our members are MUCH more mature than to be like that. Grow UP! if you gotta personal beef with Dingo, keep it that way, DON'T involve others who happen to like off the wall builds. I think it's cool! AND the paint came out REAL nice. I Don't think YOU represent ANY Australian builders except yourself, and the one I do call my freind is in NO WAY as vile as yourself! If ya can't say ANYTHING nice, DON'T say ANYTHING at all! Learn some courtesy and respect for others, remember, if you don't show respect, you WON'T get any! -
Good ta see ya again CDB. I LOVE these How To kinda pics! Shows ALOT imagination on workin out problems! Looks like this same idea could be used on afew different body styles! GREAT job, an thanks for the pics, PLEASE keep us updated!

Ok guys it's birthday time again, and since Bill is a personal freind, I wanted you all to know! So HAPPY Barfday you ol model builder you! And the same wishes for a GREAT day to ALL my Forum Brothers who are celebrating another year on this rock we call Earth. May the Good Lord give you ALL a long and happy life buildin models!!!!( 'Spcially my Buddy Bill!!!)

I finally did it!
george 53 replied to lordairgtar's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Greg, sorry you had to give up the freinds you made there, but, WHY don't you just invite them HERE? When SA re-did their forum, I tried to log on, an they said I no longer existed in their files! I NEVER logged OUT, so how did they LOOSE me? Oh Well, no big loss,as I consider THIS my home. I've had the pleasure of knowin quite a few guys from here, and they DO feel like freinds. Heck , when I met Gregg at the Toledo NNL last year, after we shook hands an introduced myself, he said, "Oh, I remember you"" I had some trouble once loggin in after my Comp died, an he hooked me up, then I bought a 67 Vette from him off'n E-modelcars, so it made me feel REAL good to here him say that! REALLY made me feel like we were freinds! I've met Anthony Rios(MR.BIGGS) And Santiago Hernandez (Mr. 1/16th) who is DISTANTLY RELATED,(we're both Hernandez's, so we GOTTA share some blood, somewhere down the line!)AND Mr. Obssesive HIMSELF, who happens to be a GREAT guy an Capt.Black, an Ed Shaver, and YOU! And that's just a START! I've made ALOT of freinds here. This IS the best model car website that I've found, period! I'm glad you've decided to stay, caz your a GREAT member, an besides, we DO share the same birthday, and I like ya ta boot! So welcome HOME my Brother, an please, don't ever stray far from it AGAIN!!!! -
Curt, your Brother-in Law sounds like my kinda guy!
-
Well Spkgibson, you must know him ALOT longer than me! An that's ok too. He's even told me how he has alot of pain from his illnesses, and sometimes he's NOT the greatest conversationalist at the toyshows he attends.I'm only goin on what HE has told me. I've heard him tell folks, "if you don't like it, don't buy it, or go cast your own" I understand he's in pain, but rudeness is rudeness, an there's NO excuse for that. I'm not gonna get into a pi$$in match about it, but like I've always said, I'll tell it like it is, if the TRUTH hurts, well THAT's NOT my fault. Your problems with our Forum Brother should be kept between you and he. As far as I'm concerened R&R products ARE NOT up to par with the BETTER resin casters, of which you've mentioned, but they ARE buildable, and to that list, you can add Motor City Resincasters, Among one of THE BEST casters out there. But as I said, this is just MY opinion.

Yep Manuel, THAT'S the stuff!!! Just keep it TIGHTLY sealed! If you don't and you DON'T use it all up, it WILL go all moldy! Why, I don't know, but it WILL get as fuzzy as a peach!
-
WoW Dave, does this mean you ACTUALLY read the instructions??? Most of your stuff is off the scale, so this does show you CAN build a "Normal" model! I can see though, ya jus hadta open up that Hatch, din'tcha! Looks GREAT, oh, an that's a REALLY nice paint job! ( regular wheels too, man you sure did suprise us!!!)
-
Well Curt, when life hands you lemons, ..... FIND SOME SALT AN TAKILLYA!!!! After a coupla them, you won't care anymore!!!

A brief introduction, by Rottweiller
george 53 replied to Rottweiler's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Welcome Joe! Like Tommy said, you sound like 90% of the guys here! Only reason it's not 100% is cas some of our members aren't as old as the rest of us, and haven't had enough time to collect all the junk us oldsters have! Your gonna like it here, caz We's the BEST model car site in EXISTANCE!!!!! Oh YEAH!!! -
Pete, you get a 1.25 lb. can. And yeah, if ya can keep it well sealed you probly COULD get about a million models outta one!
-
She probly DIDN'T use a Sham-Wow to clean up, an he just lost it!
-
Dewan, that bad boy looks good to me, Bro. I REALLY like the color! Do the R/T's really have that diagonal stripe on the hood? I personally haven't seen one,so I don't know. That first shot REALLY shows how the "Pony Car" difference between the new one and the old one. It doesn't have the long hood, short trunk of the original, and so it makes it look not as stylish to me. But your Chally looks as it should! Great Build!
