NICE job Tom! That body, if you got it from Resin Realm is PROBABLY an old R&R casting! As soon as you said 'Rather THICK castings...." I KNEW what it was! That being said, you've done a GREAT job on this little cruiser! It came out VERY nice, considering what you had to do to get it to look THAT nice! Again, GREAT JOB!!!

The real bite is they were NICER than the Franklin Models an cheaper priced! I have at least 50 DM models! Personally, it'll be a shame if they CAN'T come back. A REAL pity!!!!!

The green striped custom Roth kit has them too. I think It's the Outlaw modded kit that has them.(Duhhh the Outlaw DOES have them too!) -
Welp, ya sure do know how ta introduce yourself! THAT is a VERY nice kit! Didja save it, or were you lucky enough to be able to start with an unbuilt annual? I got two of these rascals, but they both need the front turn signals of all things! GREAT job on a GREAT model!

Reminds me of a 51/52 Chevy grille. Still seems to stick out too far though. But that's just my opinion.

Nice. VERY nice.......

As the owner of a 95 Impala SS I've never liked this version of the Impala. Still don't,but at least YOUR interpretation looks MUCH better! Funny how much better it can look with a few mods that really don't change it, but DO! Your doin a GREAT job on this! Hopefully this WILL change my feelings of this kit, as I DO have a few of them in my stash!(They have some really nice wheels an tires in this kit!)

NEVER SAND RESIN TILL IT"S CLEAN!!!! If you don't, you'll force the release agent into the resin an it will not allow the paint to stick! Believe me on this, it has cost me. Just soak that rascal in Westley's to clean it off an then have at it!!!!!!! -
Don't know wat it IS yet, but i'm liken it!

That's enough! Ira, you gotta REAL strange grip on this plastic stuff! You are probably one of the most "off the wall" builders I've ever had the pleasure of shareing this forum with! YOU sir, are an artiste, up there with John Terisi in MY book! This is a GREAT model with over the top out of the box thinkin! GREAT model!!!!!!!!

Eric, I've had an AMT full detail kit for a while now,in my stash. It IS a fully detailed kit, with Engine an everthang!

Who's Camaro is this? AMT's or Revell's? Either way it's lookin good so far!

Tom, at the present time, I don't think Cuzzin Al does 16th sizes, as he's got his hands full just kickin out the tires he's casting now. But Who knows? MAYBE if there is enough of a demand for them, he MIGHT invest the cash into larger sizes, but you should get ahold of him to ask him personally. Theres NO doubt about the quality of his tires though, they are the BEST out there, BARR NONE!!!!

Fixes needed for the AMT 69 Chevelle 396

I have the Modelhaus conversion kit. It comes with the proper rear bumper and front grille and dash, and front and rear seats. I just had to fill in the area above the 68's tailight area, as the 69's tailights are much taller and larger. Their 68 442 conversion kit also comes with the proper 68 bumpers, grille and hood. All in all, they are BOTH excellent and very affordable conversion kits! -
I started subscrubing to SAE back in 90. I also oerdered all the back issues, and got to talk with Gary personally,on the phone and he is really a nice guy! I sent him a wedding card when he married his seceratary. He was one of the nicest guys I had the pleasure to talk with. After he sold SAE to Kalmbach, they dumped Car Model magazine and the rest is history. Personally I feel MCM is the better of the two, they are a more freindlier, seems to be made by modelers FOR modelers. After meeting whats his face at least 5 times at the NNL's, he STILL seems to act like he's doin you a favore just by taklkin to you. Don't like folks who are to full of themselves and pretentious. Others seem to act like he's a god or somethin. Just a rude old man to me!

Box art, Crazy boy!!! But, I DO gotta admit, that IS one sweet lookin T!
-
Those ARE nice!!! Do you HAVE the Ansen Sprint wheel? And if so, how much for a set of front and rear? I'd be interested in maybe 3 to 4 sets of them. (I had Ansen Sprint wheels on both my 69 Mopars!)
-
Gotta chime in here too! 68 to 70 B bodies are the PRETTIEST cars Chrysler EVER designed!!! You did a GREAT job on this. Only thing is I never saw the reflectors on the front and rear body sides done in chrome. They were body colored with colored plastic reflective inserts. But that's OK caz it STILL looks GREAT!!!!
-
Uhhhh could ya maybe kinda tell us a little more about it,maybe???? Does it work like regular liquid glue?
-
The only one I can think of is the Mitsu that came out in the "Fast and Furious" series. It comes as a full detail kit with straight six turbo engine.
-
After Gary sold SAE to Kalmbach it just lost ALOT of it's "personality". At least our Mag STILL have a For US By US feel to it! I'll ALWAYS take it over the "new" SAE ANYTIME!!!!

Norm carries an EXCELLENT variety of fully detailed webers!!! They're probably THE BEST around! -
Nice build. Is it an original AMT 69 Torino coupe or is it a resin trans kit. MCRC has a VERY nicely done 69 Coupe.

you were LUCKY! most of the time they pull the existing issues off the stand BEFORE they place the latest issues out!
