  1. Primer grey, I can't finish anything!
  2. It's not quite done yet, but anyone up for a blown Corvair?
  3. Cotton balls are used to burnish gold leaf, real velvet is used to turn it.
  4. As someone who has hand lettered vehicles for over 40 years, I will suggest lettering quills for brushes, One Shot or Ronan lettering enamels for paint, and for reducer, I use Dupont 3812 enamel reducer. A lot of people will tell you to palette your paint using a phone book, I strongly disagree, flat paper can pull fibers into your paint so use a glossy magazine. Practice on some glass as when you are done you can wipe it off or let it dry and scrape it off with a razor blade. Lettering is not as easy as many think, very few people pick it up right away. To letter a 1/25 scale model is WAY harder than 1:1. If you need more assistance, PM me. This was all done with One shot and the numbers are 23K gold leaf.
  5. I'm sure someone here will appreciate this. www.crankandpiston.com/lifestyle/dennis-hoyt-sculptures-poetry-in-wooden-motion/
  6. Absolutely beautiful! The overall design and execution are great. I know you said the wheels are aftermarket, care to share where you got them? This is a great kit and the last one I managed to finish myself. Do you have any pics of the underside, I really like the frame that comes with this, unfortunately I couldn't use mine as I made it into a two door.
  7. From what I read about this series, you will swap out to another car when the batteries run out.
  8. Must have been an extremely slow news day over at fox.
  9. Excellent products, communication and fast shipping. If anyone's interested in these, I wouldn't hesitate on ordering. Mike's a great guy to deal with.
  10. http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=4174&p=63800 One day I'll break down and buy this.
  11. Just because the turntable is set at a certain RPM. doesn't mean the the needle is traveling on the record at the same speed from beginning to end.
  12. Wow Casey, that was fast. I just PM'ed you as I realized this should have been in the Q&A section. That looks like it and thank you.
  13. At a show last year I bought a prebuilt 69 Corvair and I was wondering what kit I have. A few clues to help ID it. The entire front suspension is molded into the chassis and uses a metal axle. The rear suspension is very basic, driveashafts, trailing arms w/ springs molded as one piece, and two shocks. The engine seems to be the same as other kits I've seen, but the top fan shroud is clear. (hopefully a clue) The connecting parts of the glass have "Corvair 69" on one strap and "Y 0 911-3" Molded into them I'm not sure if 0 really is part of the number as it's where the ejection pin mark is, the o is an ejection pin mark on the word Corvair. The kit is molded in white. The headlights and front bumper are one piece. I've already started cutting the body up, so I'm not sure if a pic would help. I've also modified the engine a bit so again, pics might not help. Thanks
  14. Greg, if you went to a show and saw a hot rod with suicide doors or a chopped top, would you ask the same question? If you understand that, this is really the same thing. Does it have a function? Not really, other than to show off. This is what custom cars/trucks are all about.
  15. Let's see, it's parked in front of the Pro Hopper booth. Maybe it's a display vehicle to show off their products.
  16. I read an article about this car a couple of weeks ago, the car was not originally built as a batmobile. The guy who bought and restored it thought it would make a good batmobile, so that's the route he chose.
  17. This is looking great Pat. Are you going to do the fender/headlight aircleaner?
  18. Good eye, it's a Tiger. The roof is from a junkyard lot I bought off of ebay. I believe it's from a Cougar Eliminator funny car, that I stretched, filled, and narrowed.
  19. Some of the worlds most colorful frogs are the Poison Arrow, also known as Poison Dart frogs. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=poison+dart+frogs&qpvt=poison+dart+frogs&FORM=IGRE http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=poison+arrow+frogs&qs=n&form=QBIR&pq=poison+arrow+frogs&sc=8-18&sp=-1&sk=
