Since I have both the amt Chevy Titan 90/GMC Astro 95 small grill trucks in my collection I opted to update two that I had gotten in 2020. These were done in the later part of 2020, But I never posted them on the forum. The Green and black Chevrolet Titan 90 was a rebuilder I got in a trade deal, and so it was the first conversion I'd done., Wanting to bookend it with the GMC Astro 95. So I bought the recent reissued GMC Astro kit. I like the larger grill look of the later made trucks more than the small grilled one's....

January 1, 2021 my area get hit with freezing rain. January 2, 2021 My Aunt passed away at 2:39 am, This was my late sister's Birthday as well. My aunt lived in the same trailer ct that I do so I would visit her regularly, shovel snow, get her food from the store, sometimes a bucket of KFC Chicken or other take home food from a restarunt . her heart codition which caused fluid retention in her legs had gotten worse in 2020 and having the heart valve issue she had made things worse for her. At least she wasn't hit with covid 19! Luella M Garrett (Hainline) Born April 26,1937 Died January 2,2021

My last build to be completed for 2020,with an unexpected movie tie in
ranma replied to ranma's topic in Model Cars
Partly, It's all CGI with Tom Hanks as most of the people in the 2004 Christmas Movie. There are Model rail road set's made in HO and Up of the train. Since there is a '49 ford hubcap in a couple of shot's in the movie that's where I got the idea from. See the photo of a screen shot from Polar Express.. -

I actually have the hubcap still. But I left it off for the "lost hubcap look" The idea came from the Movie Polar Express. The hubcap in the movie is from a '49 Ford so I wanted to do a movie tie in to that.. -

amt 1202 1/25 AMT 1963 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon - Craftsman Plus
ranma replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The '59 Imperial can be kit bashed with amt's '57 Chrysler 300 . Only thing needed to do is open the hood. I used the '59 chassis under the '57, and glued the hood shut on it as well. As for the '63 Nova Wagon I have three of them on pre-order!- 599 replies

ranma replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
This is a FALSE statement. the Iron duke actually was very different from the Chevy II Nova's four banger. According to Hemmings Sept 20,2019 Article : For the last time the Iron Duke was not the same engine as the Chevy II four cylinder! By Daniel Strohl- 599 replies

Kits in Walmart For Christmas
ranma replied to OldNYJim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's up to the regional manager and the local managers to have models in their store. Van Wert Oh/Celina Oh/Lima Oh is not carrying models. The Decatur Indiana Wal Mart is carrying the kit's though. I got the Pinto and weekend wrench'n kits. 21.34 each after taxes... -
I actually got lucky the only resin Impala's in my collection are my '71 and '72 All the rest 58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66,67,68,69,70,73,74,75,& 76 are all regular kit's

Nope, that would be the '70 Impala which from what was said the '69 molds were changed into the '70 Impala one.. Also some think that the '68 Impala molds were altered into the '69 Impala's I don't think that actually would be the case as the body design has major differences from '68-69 Which inclued: The front fenders ,roof hood ect. The '68 would more than likely been made from the 67 Impala..

According to Hobby lobby's add Display cases are supposed to be half off this week. Ft.Wayne Indiana's HL HL I bought two cases yesterday and they sold them as what the add said 50% off. Went To the HL In Lima Ohio to buy a couple more, but was told at the register that the "model" display cases were not part of the sale. Manager was rude, after telling him that I just bout the same cases at Ft.Wayne's HL and got the 50% off. Lima lost a sale and a customer as the add don't say which display cases are on sale See add
