Chevrolet Trucks built in Springfield Oh
ranma replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes it would, If Moebius still has agreements with Navistar maybe they would be a good kit for them to issue. As a Utility, tow or EMT Ambulance.. -
Replacement chrome for semi trucks.
ranma replied to James Maynard's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you know someone who can do the small parts in resin, you could just pull the other horn off, and one of the cab light's. Models by Dave makes a few small parts for the 4070 A ( front bumper, and the Transtar trim with the step rungs under the door if your missing the Trim under the doors. Force: the Transtar 4070 a actually was released in 1973. One of the two kit boxes I have is stamped inside Oct 1973. I also know that this date is correct as My Brother and I got a built copy for Christmas in 1973. My dad (Harvester employee) painted them, and Mom built both of them. I plan on getting one when they are reissued on the market, and eventhough I have three Original copies built I want to build one as the rig my brother got. That will bookend the one I built to look like the one I got for Christmas '73.. The red and white is identical to the one I got way back then, But was foolish and tried to play with it back then. -
Both the Silverado HD (topkick) and the cousin Navistar CV series are produced at the navistar plant in Springfield Ohio For some reason I think the International copy looks much nicer than the Chevy version. Anywho I seen two of the CV series being driven through Van Wert Ohio, looked really nice in black! They actually were the shorter copy that Navistar makes ( more than likely going to become tow trucks. Would be cool to see with a dually pickup bed on one though!

I put a Revell 409 from a 59 impala in a amt 50 chevy pickup kit with no issues...

If it's true that would also mean that their glues ect are going away as well????

In the Second made for TV movie, (the pilot episode was actually a two part movie called the Townsend Act) . In 1978 after the weekly series was taken off they made some made for TV movies the first which was Called: Survival from Charter 220. In this movie the famous '72 Dodge meet's a sad end, there is not only a jet engine sitting on it, but a huge tree landed on it as well. This was the last time the '72 dodge was in the movies, the other movies take place in different city's such as Seattle, and San Fransico . and end with both Johnny and Roy becoming Captains.

I made this review with you in mind , Because you made comments back when I first showed the auto world pickup on here.......

This is a review for four square body Chevrolet pickup's made by: Auto World, M2Machines, Matchbox, and Greenlight. I'll rank them from the poorest to the best.Th First up is the matchbox step side square body: It's a tad smaller than the other three, decently detailed paint wise. but the wheel's are lacking any real detail. Nor does it have any opening features ect. Second on the list is M2Machines: it's paint work is better than Matchbox, and does have an opening hood, but the tail gate has the handle missing plus it's to shallow . Then the rear wheel well's go way high in the bed as well. M2 does have clear headlight though. Third is the Green light copy which is a 1981, but still a square body. The paint detail is great size matches both AW and M2's pickup's. the bed cover is the only part that is moveable. The wheels are nicely done much better than M2 and even better than Auto world's wheels are. Green light's pickup also has clear headlight's Which leads to the Auto World copy. Auto world chose to paint in their headlights, which if they would have been clear would have made it even better, That being said the aw copy has the hood open as well as the tail gate, and like the green light has license plates, the painted details are outstanding even the front windshield trim is done in black. The wheel's/tires are also nicely done on the Auto world Pickup That is why I see the Auto world copy as the best of the 4 trucks. Auto world has even just released their own copy of a '81 square body pickup which now will blow green lights copy away only because of the windshield molding being done, and the features of the hood and tail gate opening.

I bought a new reissue of the "old pro" 72 nova with the idea to make it a non ss with a bench front seat. So I had a second Nova that I had that the rear bumper had went missing on f a few years now to use the back seat from. While building the new copy I found a rear bumper with tail light on ebay so I decided to so a complete save of the one I had as well. Being that the old one was now missing the back seat, and I wasn't using the front seats from the other kit I used them in the rebuilder for the back seat's.

Over night are area was hit with a foot of snow that covers the six inches we already had before! Thanks Polar Vortex! I really wish spring would come!!!!!! Photo's were taken this morning after I cleared out snow from the step's side walk and moved the car around.

Just finished my copy of Revell's 1969 Chevelle SS. I chose to go with a rare color choice for the '69 with white paint, red stripes, and red interior. This car was built box stock so there isn't any added details other than what came in the box. The chrome trim /door locks were done using Molotow 2 mm pen, and I used red embossing powder on the floor though it can not bee seen in the photo's. I bought the kit from Phil's Hobbies in Ft.Wayne Indiana , and he has two store in Ft.Wayne.. The one I go to is east of downtown in a shopping center This is his bigger store, His stand alone store is a pain to get to if your coming from the north!

Your right that they are usually black, So I would have to say that this Chevelle was a S.O. Having a body color matching firewall.

About that four letter word, Were supposed to be hit with 6-8 inches here in NW Ohio. Winter weather advisory for our area start's a 4 am Monday till 4 am Tuesday. that will make it just over a foot of snow when combined with what we already have. It will be a few days after I get done with it that I'll be able to take outside Photo's of the finished Chevelle!

nearing it's completion, I bring you the first photo's of my white '69 Chevelle SS, with red interior, and stripes.

My third '63 Nova wagon. This time I went with a solid body color. I used some parts from a amt 66 nova kit which include the engine, battery, radiator, Brake cylinder, coil springs upper a-arms, and the leaf spring's . The 66 nova leaf spring were cut where the rear axle would connect to them, and the molded on one cut off the '63 chassis plate . I also cut out the molded in drive shaft on the 63's chassis, and added the other exhaust pipe from the '66 nova. Then I added the shifter, turn signal lever, and seat belts.

'66 Nova Chassis for '63 Nova Wagon Conv.

These pictures show what needs to be removed from the '66 Nova chassis so it will fit under the '63 Nova Wagon.. The fire wall and radiator supports need to be trimmed on each side as well so that it will fit the wagons body. On the wagon body the complete engine bay/firewall and radiator support have to be removed..

The Polar light's is supposed to be a snap kit, but I ended up having to glue most of the parts together (Coca Cola Veriation). the plus side of this kit is both the hood and trunk open plus it has a spare tire that can be removed or put in..
