Murphy .Co price sticker on the side, And boy do I miss these kind of prices for a new kit ! {G.C. Murphy Co $1.64} Tried on ebay search on this one, But Found that Model Roundup has one for $69.90 + shipping.

ranma replied to tbill's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Well then you sure got a lot a spare roof shingles. Back on topic. I had those salted potatoes, and yes they are great indeed. My oldest sister was married to a fella who was Italian, and lived near Syrcuse Ny. We had them when we went there one summer to visit my sister and her now Ex-Husband for a week. -
Here is pictures of the Off Road Scout II being built. Note same tires that are used for the regular scout II Last 2 pictures were found on the internet.. Note the stock scout II rims on the Chrome tree in the Original issue of the Off road Scout ss. All the "off road"parts from this was also used for the Off road scot II but Molded in red!
-
The tire's are more than likely the same as all the other scout's have. I have an Original issue of the International off road Scout II, And it's tires were the same as the regular scout II kit. It even came with the option to use the rims for the regular scout II! The Off road Scout II has a picture of a green scout II (off Road), While the kit was molded in red unlike the regular scout kit that was molded in Orange . The molded in Orange kit had a yellow scout II box art. So the Off road parts are shared by both the Off road Scout II, and the off road scout ss.

Looking back at AMT's 1963 Chevrolet PU
ranma replied to Eshaver's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
If round2 Is really going to reissue the 1960 Apache pickup again Could a person just use the hood and front grill/headlights from a 64-66 Revell Chevy pickup and make the 60 into a 63? -

Auctual "Barn Find" Hubley Ford.
ranma replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well it's been washed, and the headlight's re chromed. Up next will be making the windshield and light lenses. -
Today was the start of the U.S 127 Garage sales. There was about 5 old Hubley model cars in a Barn garage sale, And this was the only one to be almost complete! The sale was on a goat farm where all the tools, old gas can's, ect were in a barn. The car was on a shelf everything on the shelf was dusty. I think it is a 30 Ford model A.

Thanks to the kind remarks on these! Ralph Nader put the death nail on the Corvair (1960-63) with his book unsafe at any speed. All of Mr.Nader's findings were proven to be wrong when the NHTSA in 1970-72 done test on a 63 Corvair along side these: '68 Corviar, Ford Falcon, Plymouth Valaint, VW Beetle, and a Renault Dauphnie, The findings were that the Corvair acted no different than the competing cars. To which they could not get the Corvair to roll as easy as Nader's claim stated. All the bad press killed the Corvair, Who is to say if the bad press had never happened the Corvair may have seen production into the early to mid 70's . Chevrolet in fact had made a full scale clay model of what the '70 Corvair would have looked like, The design was said to look much like the 73 A body Pontiac Grand Am. Could anyone imagine what would have been if GM would have produced it then?
-
The 1960 Corvair 4 dr, was an unpainted built that I found at a garage sale a few years back, And IIRC I paid about $15.00 for it. The 1969 Corvair is from a recent trade deal. When I was looking through the parts for the '69 I found the kit came with a convertible top (down). That gave me the idea to do the '69 as one of the 521 Convertibles that Chevrolet built for Corviar's Final year. I also done a search and found some of the Corvair's had the spare tire with the engine, And so that's what I did I added a spare in the engine compartment. The '69 also came with extra Headlight area's One which could have clear lights instead of the chrome ones attached to the bumper. The chrome ones got removed, as I added the ones for clear headlights. Those I think look better than the chrome ones.

The letters and Numbers on the lense ( FRST 55) and ford symbol are on those. So they belong to a 55 base model, Plus the T -Bird's had chrome on them.

Yes I more than likely would have let him borrow the money if he asked, Although I don't drink beer, I'd rather cook with it. Now Coca Cola is a different story. He also took three of my builds, One '70 Mustang. '76 Ford Torino and a '70 Impala ( which I'll never see again. But Actually the money was worse as It was for my youngest son who is in Jail for a joke gone wrong. Long story about that. Besides Jail is a hard place to be in but worse for a 21 year old Transgender. My youngest was born a girl, But Identifies as as a male, As I told his adopted dad Nature does and can throw some nasty curve ball's!
-
Thanks, But what's worse is that I was helping him restart his model collection that he had lost. I bought him a kit, gave him a tube of glue, Hobby Knife and glue tips. All which he now will not get! Like I said Throwing this all away just so he could buy a couple of cans of Beer. I caught up with him this week, and told him everything I did for him; he just screwed him self out of. He is no longer allowed at my house as I lost all trust in him!
-
Sadly I had to give a friendship the boot, He was a friend for over twenty years. But he decided to steal money from me, And my youngest son. All just to get some beer. I guess beer was better than having a good friendship to him. I had to tell him that he was no longer allowed at my house. ?
