  1. Beautiful build Alan. The top looks pretty good, it's just missing the seams.
  2. Beautiful build and paint!!! I just can't get used to the tires on an angle. Reminded me of my buddies 67 Karmin Ghia thats tires always slanted in and we all made fun of it. Of course I wish I had that VW today.
  3. Beautiful build. Love the color combo!!!
  4. Beautiful, excellent build!!!
  5. Excellent build!!! Love the color.
  6. Nice!!!
  7. Thanks Charlie, Sam and Chuck. Chuck, Since all my builds are curbside I centered the wheels and tires on the chassis and instant glued in place. Al
  8. Alan, Here is a copy of an ad of the models in the series from the past and a picture of my finished Packard I won on ebay a couple of months ago. Al
  9. Alan, You're the the guy that beat me on the Stutz These kits were pretty cool, but always suffered from fit problem. Nice save!!!
  10. Beautiful build. Nice paint!!!
  11. Thanks guys. Sometimes simple is just beautiful
  12. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I really enjoyed building this one. If Harry should read this, interior and exterior mirrors were options along with sunvisiors, heater, seatbelts, radio and all window trim with the exception of the chrome windshield frame, door handles and emblems. Al
  13. This Ranchero started out as the lastest issue. I painted it Tamiya Grey Green with Testeor Wet Look Clear. A light coat of Tamiya Clear Blue on the windows. The only option on this truck were white walls. The pre-printed tires are a nice touch, but when fitted on the steel wheels, which look too large, the white walls almost vanished. I filed the lip off the edge of the wheels and it makes a big difference. Nice kit and fits in perfectly with my early 60's replica stocks. Thank you for looking. Al
  14. Thanks guys. I have to thank John White from the JCMCC for rebuilding the rear window trim and making a new rear window with the crease in it. The rear window destroyed when someone overglued the vinyl top aftermarket part. Al
  15. I picked this one up at a swap meet in Wayne NJ. It had Superfly rear window treatment and was in pretty bad shape. After stripping the white enamel and removing the padded vinyl roof, the car was primed using Tamiya's white primer and the painted Black Cherry by Dupli-color. 4 coats of Testors Wet Look clear and polished out with Novis #2 to a mirror shine. I just love bringing back models of my childhood.. Hope you like it. Al
  16. Chris, I've been using Purple Power on resin body prep of 3 years now and never had a issue. For 11.00 for 3 gallons, you can strip a lot of cars. Make sure you wear gloves.
  17. I can't believe there's a hobby that has so many people in it that I can call friends.

  18. Lee the Edsel is plastic and the wagon is resin.
  19. These are from a swap meet at my club meeting last night. They are a 100% complete. The Edsel cost me $20.00 and the 51 Ford wagon was $10.00. As I type this they are both bodies are in Purple Power stripper getting ready for priming. The Edsel I'm thinking Bright red with a red seats with silver inserts. The 51 Ford wagon a cream exterior, All wood grain will be painted to match factory specifications. The interior of the wagon will be done in a burgandy. I can't believe I got both of these for $30.00. I also won the 50/50 and got the latest rerelease of the 60 Ranchero. which I already painted in a mint green and will be build replica stock. Let me know your ideas for body colors on the 1st 2. Al
  20. Beautiful and super clean build!!!
  21. Thanks guys. Gluebomb restorations are the best. You can pick these up pretty cheap and most of the time they are in good condition. Useally you can get a vintage models for little money. Al
  22. Beautiful build and color. I also like the sedan delivery idea!!!
  23. Thanks everyone for the nice comments. The 1st owner took the time to remove all the mold lines before he brushed on the horrible paint job. Just makes me wonder why doing all the body prep to paint it with a brush. Al
  24. I bought this one off ebay for $16.00. It was brush painted testors met. red enamel. I keep forgetting to take pictures of these gluebombs before I strip them. It soaked in Purple Power for 2 days when I found out it was the original release, molded in the light blue plastic. So it was a good buy. Next I painted it Tamiya pearl light blue and bright white roof and top of rear fenders, followed by 4 coats of Testors wet look clear. I lightly tinted the windows with Tamiya clear blue. All paints were applied out of rattle cans. BMF and The Detailer black wash where needed. Added a set of AMT's Firestone Deluxe Champion late 50's wide whites. I wanted to open the tailgate, but the previous owner epoxied it shut and it's not going anywhere. All in all it came out pretty good. Let me know what you think. Al
