  1. Nice. I see you got the right windshield size most people over look that difference from the rc2.
  2. Yep no clutch pedal. And yes they were available in the 359. Allisons have been around since the late 60's or longer.
  3. As a rule speedo on the right tach on the left. That way in almost every rtuck I ever drove. I believe it has something to do with govt. rules. Paystar ,4200 and 4300 used the same dash with the tachograph and speedograph.
  4. The monkey motion was only available in the 50's. The torsion bar, four spring and the old KW four bag were about it. There may have been some with Neway air or Hendrickson walking beam. The Page and Page set up pictured was pretty well gone by the late 60's but later Page and Page set ups could have been. KenworthMonkeyMotionrearsuspension1_zpsd5f2136a.jpg.html
  5. The real life torsion bar was a maintenance nightmare and would have been useless on a vocational truck like mixer as it was not designed for of road use. However it did ride decent even better than early 8 bags according to many guys I knew back then.
  6. Here is a DM 600 with steel hood.
  7. Somebody here on the forum was doing the same conversion should be able to find it. Seems like it was 6 months to a year ago. Was making good progress as I recall.
  8. The AMT w900 is also a couple years older than tv truck but is close for the in tandem movie truck. The interior is also wrong AMT has the splendor interior while the tv truck had the VIT. All the pieces to make a correct Movin on truck are available however.

  10. Actually I've hauled several for a vintage farm equipment auction that I used to some trucking for. Neat subject for a kit.
  11. I've found Round 2 releases to be better than the originals. They seem to clean up the vintage dies, goe back to original parts and improve decal sheets. The papa truck kit came out at the time AMT was cutting back on quality and could have been better.
  12. Seen several New Ray 579 builds on that page including Tim's
  13. These were great kits I wish AMT would have kept going with them.
  14. Do a search on shapeways.com there are some decent looking 1/32 wheels and tires being done there in 3 d printing. Cabs and other goodies too.
  15. Friend of mine bought a 1975 w900 new with a pair of those air cleaners. Note the center point steering. This truck was unique even with short hood it had a factory Cummins kt 450. It has a unique firewall and cross member brace around the bellhousing. By the way this truck is still going doing local work and yard mule duties.
  16. Oops your right always confuse those two tractors for some reason.
  17. Does it come with the 1/24 scale shotgun shell to start it like the real tractor? Look it up.
  18. I use K & S aluminum tubeing found at most hobby shops and suppliers. Comes in many sizes and when polished with any metal polish looks great. They also sell a small tubeing bender cheap you can use to make bull haulers etc.
  19. FYI the AMT k 100 Aerodyne kit is the papa truck without the bed and decals. If that helps identify it for parts.
  20. That color is known as Cummins gold used into the 60s before the switch to tan. Some manufacturers ordered engines in their color Pete and Kw white, Ford blue and IH red.
