I use a product called "Mold Builder" it is a liquid latex rubber product. Brush it on and after dry, peels right off. I have even used this product to make a mold of a carb, by brushing on several coats, add a layer of gauze then more rubber. Pop out the master , pour some resin, copy made.

Nice looking build there Ace. Really like how you color matched the bumpers. Color is awesome also.

When looking for an Out Of Production kit such as this, I found the site www.modelroundup.com they have listings on several OOP kits. and also sell them online as well. I have ordered from here and got great service and timely delivery at a reasonable cost. Hope this may help someone in the future as well. Jack is the owner and very good guy to deal with.

Why not get a 1966 or 67 riviera model kit. There are a few including a low-rider with many differant spring combinations.

the longest I ever cut the wires, before fitting is 2 inches for the farthest away plug. But I normally cut all pieces of wire to this size, easier to handle.

Also good for stripping paint in, spray easy-off on and close the lid, you can rinse it out and reuse. I have that one separate from the others and clearly marked.

On you tube they have done swirl paint jobs on guitars, you have water with borax powder mixed, a few drops of whatever color combination you wish of paint, immerse the object into the paint, turning and adhering the paint the way you wish, them skim the rest of the paint off the water and no more paint will spoil your first effect. here is another guy that uses humbrol paints on a bass guitar

I have once tried to copy an emblem. I used liquid latex rubber, built up a few coats. Pulled it of and poured resin in it. I probably should have tried to use epoxy, cause the resin was too thin to replicate.

Brushing this on does not ensure that the coat will be uniform, it is easier to have a greater amount so that the thin areas are not so thin that they don't peel off. While I use the Latex type material now, I used some of the modeling types for R/C car bodies, and found that the thin, light coat did not remove from the body and had to be scrubbed, but thicker coats were able to peel right off. Also the latex I use can be used to mold small parts such as carbs, a few coats, a layer of gauze then a few more coats, I can pour resin in it and have a duplicate.

Yes it does not work with the detail master photo etch, but works with their brand of photo etch harness kits

It is a thicker product, so in some ways, easier to cut without tearing, but when doing fine details, could be harder to use.

The cars I remember gramps having was a 1956 Mercury, that he only drove to work and back everyday, and grocery shopping, he traded in at a Mercury dealership for a 1966 Mercury Monteray . The owner of the dealership saw the car only had 15000 miles in 10 years, just gave gramps the car even trade. Then when he hit 60 years old he bought a 1966 Triumph TR-3. My grandma took over both cars when he passed. She sold the Triumph at auction and got a good amount of cash. She traded in the 1966 Merc, for a 1983 Oldsmobile Cutlass.
