I thought the Dodge demon would be reissued right after the Dodge Dart Sport that was released last year, at least that was the word on this forum. Has anyone heard anything on this model reissue? Thanks John

Would like to hear other modelers opinions on the type of airbrush they use and why. airbrushes to me are a bit messy and a bit of a hassle vs. a spray can, but i have a feeling there is much less buffing etc if an airbrush is used properly. I shoot mostly enamels. I've used the badger 250,in the past, which is a low end brush, but got good results. Cans are very convienient, but something tells me an airbrush would be better. the only problem is the hassle. The little air hole clogs on the siphon feed bottles etc etc and it can get messy. I think at this stage i would prefer a single action and i'm wondering if gravity feed might be the way to go vs. siphon fed. also does internal mix buy me anything more over external?? I'm not into detailing much with flames etc, but do love to lay down smooth finishes with little work at the end with sanding and buffing. would love to hear all and any opinions on specific models etc. Thanks!! john

Hi, I see people on here talking about future as a barrier, i suspect they mean using it as a primer - does it work?? also when choosing a primer, is it necessary to make sure the primer is for plastics?? Can primers be "hot" like paint too?? I have some rust oleam primer, but it says its for wood and metal. The last paint i used said only for wood and metal and it orange peeled the plastic. Thanks again. john

Thanks everyone. I got away without using primer on my first two builds, now i'm going to start using it. Next question - does the color of the primer matter?? I know there is white, gray, black, red and i think green primers. is it necessary to use a certain primer color depending on body color?? Thank-you again and great info! John

OK I know this might sounds like a stupid question and i might be answering my own question. I'm on my third build and found the perfect color paint for my 69 monogram GTO Judge. It's Krylon farm and implement paint and its says its for wood and metal, but never mentions for use with plastic on the can. I'm a good can sprayer, but no matter how I tried with my wet coats, they would always start out perfect, but as they dried i would keep getting orange peel on the finish. I DID NOT use primer. I finally gave up and started taking the paint off with 90% rubbing alcohol and when i got to the actual plastic it was all orange peeled and pitted with a very rough surface. Thankfully i only sprayed the hood. my question is did the paint do this?? I guess obviously it did, but next time if i primer before hand can i use a can spray paint that is not specified for plastic?? Thanks, john

Hi, I have never used duplicolor car paints on a model before and have decided to try it on my next build. My questions are can you spray this stuff right out of the can? and second, do I need to lay down primer before using? I use enamel paints mostly out of the can and airbrush and most of the time don't prime and they come out fine - just wondering if its the same with duplicolor. thanks john

Hey mark whats the trick he showed you?? is it spraying with with gloss after painting with flats and mattes?? Mikey, i agree - its much harder for me to spray gloss from the start vs. a matte or flat and then the clear. Mattes and flats (enamels or i guess any type of paint for that matter) are much less forgiving, drip less and dry much faster IMO. I found this out totally by accident when doing a 69 judge gto, i thought the paint i was airbrushing was a testors gloss green and it turned out to be a flat green. At the time i was pissed and instead of removing the paint and starting over, i just did a clear coat over it and it came out beautiful!! I'm going to try it out on my next build.
