Who's closing up shop now? I'm confused.
And those are numbers we'll never see. They might be interesting and might satisfy our curiosity but they're really none of our business.
Used to sell a lot of them back when I worked in a hobby shop. Loved our RC Manager's description of flying one: "Balance a bowling ball on a bowling ball ... on top of a broomstick! People would buy them (actually ANY RC vehicle) and ask what kind of guarantee we had. We'd tell them that we guarantee that they would crash it and that we would have the parts and expertise to put it back together again.
Great set of pics, Greg. Puzzled by the photog's comment that 'Queen Daytona' was rebuilt into 'King Daytona'.(Photo 6) That would make this photo kinda ... um ... impossible.
According to the article in Hemmings, they could find no evidence that a tow bar had ever been installed in this car but plenty of clues that it had, in fact, been raced. I'd like to find color shots of the red one, myself.
Mark ... I've been watching this entire build in mostly quiet amazement. I have one question that I really need to ask. Do you have a CNC mill or did you do this all manually?
A How-To thread is another animal altogether. If one starts a How-To it is somewhat expected that they will follow through and not leave the thread hanging. A normal work-in-progress thread? Step by step how-to? Really? How many times would you like to see how to do spark plug wires? How many times do you want to see "This is how I managed to paint the transmission a different color from the engine." Do you really expect the expert painter to lead you step-by-step through painting every single one of his projects?
If you really want to know "The How" on a work in progress, it's incumbent upon YOU to ASK not upon the builder to provide a step-by-step "How To" article.
