  1. Presumptuous? No. If you can live without it, it's a toy! It's a diversion.
  2. All I can say is this: You can draw all the red and blue lines you want on pictures of this car; I'm still gonna buy it, build it and put in on the contest table. Very few if any people are going to look at the finished model and say "What a mess! Just look at how wrong it is!" And, the ones who do, I can only paraphrase Dr. Frank N. Furter in 'Rock Horror Picture Show' : "I didn't build it for you!" Some of you folks need to get some perspective because YES, THEY ARE TOYS! Unless your very life depends upon them, they are toys and all the getting upset in the world doesn't change that. All the money and effort and artistry and craftsmanship in the world doesn't change the fact that they are still toys.
  3. And the fact that is was so not-funny is why it was funny! Well, that and the folks who didn't get it!
  4. When I met my wife there was a gal who lived in the apartment downstairs from here who left her Christmas tree up year round. Only problem was it was a "live" tree.
  5. /sarcasm on/ But. but ... I don't want to be patient and invest time and effort into a model; it should just fall together outta the box! /sarcasm off/
  6. If you're that paranoid, you're probably not driving the car that much anyway.
  7. Here's a shot from their web site. I'm seriously considering one.
  8. It's good that they work for you; no one said they weren't a good supplier. OnlineMetals.com is also a good supplier and are about 40% less expensive. There are even cheaper ways of getting your metal. There are large machine shops that actually sell their scrap on ebay and, yes, it's cheap.
  9. Greg, these look wickedly dangerous. What are they?
  10. Ah, but you're not as "special" as they are.
  11. So ... How many variations of a Checker Marathon can you name? Cab, airport limo, ... Yeah, I don't see that as being viable.
  12. The 'Suicide King' Studebaker is a wheelstander, it's only on 4 wheels when it's parked. Here it is in its natural environment .
  13. Sooo ... how does she sound at idle? That is beautiful work, Mark.
  14. Keeping us from packing too much mouthwash in our luggage when we fly. I haven't heard; are they still confiscating Medals of Honor at the airport?
  15. Thought I was leaving you all this weekend. Saturday night I got that pain in the chest and arms and shortness of breath. Yep, had myself a heart attack (albeit a mild one). Now I have a new medication regimen, a new diet and a new exercise lifestyle. Man, it sucks getting old.
  16. In the real world, yeah, they would work. In the model world, who can tell. One would hope that they would!
  17. Those would be the stock exhaust manifolds; I didn't notice any headers.
  18. So, you're WHISKEY RIDGE RESIN & DECALS? Nice to meet you. Welcome to my black list. I've never bought from you, never contacted you, didn't even know you existed until this thread. The tone of your post tells me all I need to know.
  19. 'The bubble-headed bleach-blonde comes on at five ..." BTW Harry, I love your avatar! Got to see him in 1979 when I was in college. He played at the University of Missouri-Rolla and we actually got to meet him after the show. Very approachable man. His death was such a loss.
  20. In the real world, Yes! In the model world? Maybe! It will probably require some tweaking.
  21. OK. "More Money Than Sense." You're welcome; I aim to please!
  22. Well, they're about the right thickness for deck planking. Of course they're too wide and they've got the rounded ends. How many folks do you know who are making 1/25 scale decks? Me? I use them for mixing resin.
  23. Using Firefox, here. Downloaded the video; sound is fine.
