Ya! I have been trying to get "MY FIX" for modeling and shring idea's with everyone since my computer crashed! lol! Then I found this site! It was a lil hard for awhile because whenever I was working on models I always had SA up! Still working on my Phanton 71 HEMI Cuda, My HEMI EXPRESS, 2 77/78 Dodge 4x4 trucks, the 340 "SHAKER" 70 Challenger and about 5 others right now. MOstly concentrating on a Lil Red Express I am scratch building a 4x4 suspension for. I miss looking for your builds, as you seem to build the same kind of cars i do! lol! And your stories that go along with the builds!!!!!!

I like the wheel on the fron in the 1st pic! Looks right at home on it! Adding the door handels back to it also makes it look better! Are you going to glue the doors shut? I have the 300C kit like this and I hate the scissor doors! I am glueing mine shut and am comtemplating giving the doors back their handels.

How about really CHALLENGING yourself, and put it together! Scrastch build a chassis or kit bash a glue bomb?! That's what I would do!

Do you have any pics of itfrom the underside? I would love to see them if you do!

All VERY nice works! I really dig the silver & white 55!

Layed out Cadi
wraith replied to Kauai420air's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Have you ever thought about getting 2 more rear tires and cutting them to fit so the whole rim is covered? Would look a lil more finished. just my 2 cents Looks good! love the color! -
I too would like to see it completely finished. But more curiously, did you just lay it on top of the molded in bed floor onthe frame or did you cut out the molded bed floor/ I have the same 40 Ford pickup and really want to do this to it, but if I do it, I will be cutting the moled in bed floor off the frame so you can see it from below as well.

Using a ultrasonic cleaner to strip parts
wraith replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I have used both bleach and Purple Power to strip chrome and both seem to work in about 5 min just letting the part soak. bleach seems to work a lil better. -
A very sweet job on a very good kit! Someday I will finish one I started YEARS ago! I have a felling it will be awhile yet! As a MOPAR guy, everything else not MOPAR tends to fall to the back of the pack.

Very nice looking Viper! I have been meaning to add this one to my Mopar collection for years. Seems like everyone who builds this kit has the same poor fitment issues with the front. But somehow I still want it more than the AMT version. I built the AMT version when I was a kid and for some reason I wasn't impressed with it.

Here's a few more of it I found http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w1/darricka13x/model/70%20roadrunner%20model/GEDC1718-1.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w1/darricka13x/model/70%20roadrunner%20model/GEDC1724.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w1/darricka13x/model/70%20roadrunner%20model/GEDC1729.jpg

I have one started. lowered with the front subframe clip & suspension from Revell"s 71 'Cuda. I also moved the spindles up to lower it more. Front sits really low! I had to remove the notch in the pass fender well for the heater box to have clearance for the wheels/tires. I have NO IDEA how a post on another model car forum ended up attached to this tax lien thing, but here are some pics http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w1/darricka13x/model/GEDC1647.jpg&imgrefurl=http://learntaxlieninvesting.com/2010/11/27/78-dodge-pickup-hemi-express/&usg=__ezgYB0naYn9I8UM9A9fSHulYjng=&h=768&w=1024&sz=105&hl=en&start=32&zoom=1&tbnid=qRvxi-602a5uiM:&tbnh=113&tbnw=150&ei=BKPeTr2tGML3sQLdu6HLBg&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhemi%2Bexpress%26start%3D21%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26gbv%3D2%26rlz%3D1R2ADRA_enUS417%26tbm%3Disch%26prmd%3Divns&itbs=1

OLD BIG SCALE JAGUAR QUESTION?!?!?!?!
wraith replied to wraith's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the manual Erik! Don't worry about getting it out sooner. I totally understand busy weekends! I can now look over the model and see exactly how complete she is. I also looked at that tutorial and you did a awesome job with it! I am starting to get excited about my proposed "Marian"s Sleigh" project for it! It now all depends on how complete she is. AS far as being a complicated kit, I am VERY CONFIDENT that I can restore this Jaguar! -
OLD BIG SCALE JAGUAR QUESTION?!?!?!?!
wraith replied to wraith's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have been thinking about what to do with this. My dad didnt really seem to care if I rescued it or let it go in the garbage when I rescued it. We had just cleaned out my grandparents attic after my grandma passed away. Just cleaning out all the clutter that didn't need to surround my grandpa anymore. I was leaning towards selling or trading it at first. Thats why I started this thread. But after reading some replies and giving it more thought, I have decided to rebuild it in honor of my Grandma for me, my dad, and my Grandpa. I will call it "Marian"s Sleigh" My grandma never really drove much ,but she was a avid Santa Claus collector, hence the "Sleigh" instead of ride or car. Hopefully after Erik sends me some instructions and I really look at it to make sure she is complete, I will get started on her rebuild. Not sure how close to a actual Jaguar I will build it, as I don't really know these cars in 1:1, but it will be a combination of what the real car would look like but fiiting for a "sleigh" for my grandma! Color will be some sort of Metallic Red, thats for sure! It will be spring probably before I really dive into this as I have some other projects I would like to finish first so hopefully I can concentrate on getting this done for Father's Day. All comments and ideas welcome! Thanks again to everyone who posted and pushed me into really thinking about this and helping me decide what to do! Darrick -
Very Beautiful piece of art you have created there!

Very nice job to a decent kit. I bought one a couple years ago for the Spyder wheels only. Used the hood to make a cowl hood on for a 76 Chevy Pickup I started as a kid , which I just finished. Been wondering what to do with tHIS model, yours gives me a direction to with it.

Lots of very sweet 'cuda's here! If i wasn't concentrating one just 2-3 WIPS right now, I would pull out my Phantom 71 AAR 'Cuda I have and get back to working on it! VERY tempted after seeing all these nice 'cudas!

VERY COOL! AND WELL EXECUTED!
