  1. like I said, quick build. I personally like the BAM BAM graffiti near the rear porthole, where the mounted gun is- 'til next time!
  2. So, every story has to have villains. Here are mine. Keep in mind, the drivers can be more deadly than the vehicle- Far away from Enrico and Jennings (who are on their way down to the swamplands that have replaced the entire southeastern seaboard), in the wastes of what -used- to be Colorado... The remnants of the Colorado City Punks have gotten hold of a '55 Chevy Gasser, welded the doors shut, replaced the windows with steel plate, and stole an experimental device that makes any alcoholic liquid into viable fuel for gasoline engines...(perfect for the seemingly unending stash of liquor they keep on hand...) With law and order nowhere to be seen, these anarchy driven maniacs have spread terror throughout the midwestern wastelands. Murder, theft, and general debauchery follow the three punks and their "Murder Machine". Each kill is marked by a tally on the driver rear panel, visible to all that have the misfortune to cross paths with them. Let's hope our heroes don't meet up with these murderous foes... '55 Chevy "Murder Machine" More past the break...
  3. So, I'm still stuck on the cockpit of the red hawk for some reason, so I knocked out a quick build on the '55 chevy before I pack up everything for the move- I'm letting paint dry and whatnot, then I'll post pics and a description
  4. This reminds me, I need to organize my spare parts box again... As for losing stuff, you know how often that happens to me (I swear I complain at least once a week about it, lol) I think I need to invest in a better system for organization- after spending a good bit if time (and fingertip skin) scratchbuilding a missing airhose assembly connector for the L700 flipcab, I find it underneath the body of the '72 olds I just finished a couple or so nights ago. ....on the same note, I think your organization is top notch compared to mine- I have a tackle box and a few empty kit boxes
  5. Ah, I think we'll do just fine besides, the country worked back in the old west, right? It's kinda like that, just more high-tech, and maybe a little less populated.... I'm thinking of a character to drive Swamp Runner- Based on the progress pics i posted a little bit ago that included the near-finished product, what are your suggestions, guys?
  6. HHD is coming along nicely Doc! I may send out a few of my vehicles later this year, as I'm gonna have to finish up a few more chapters of the journal to get my caravan out to the rest of the caravan! He's got a long ways to go though, he's currently on his way down to the swamplands that used to be Florida (and it looks to me that your HHD is set maybe somewhere in the desert? maybe the Mojave?) And to everyone else- I am loving what I see! Although I crunch my time so tightly between building, writing, working, and family I rarely have time to update let alone mention EVERYONE- I look at everything, and so far I'm mighty impressed! As it stands- I'm finishing up Swamp Runner's detail work and kind of blundering my way through my ever-present cockpit problem with the Red Hawk- as well as starting to work on the '55 Chevy (no nickname for it yet...). As stated before, I'll be moving soon so I'll most likely be packing everything up here later in the week... I'll keep ya posted!
  7. ty ty, good sir. I was having trouble making a fitting cockpit for my CCAF Red Hawk air assault vehicle I'm making for this build, so I figured I'd build something else to unclog the ol' brain pipes so I can come back at it with a clear head. Plus, I wanted to go outside the norm and do something simple, so I made a 'getaway' car. You know, like that really strong muscle car sitting in the hideout garage just in case a quick escape is in order. My wife bought me a Revell '55 Chevy Street Machine as a gift to show how happy she is with my recent promotion to shift manager- needless to say she's short a piece of jewelry for that purchase, so I'm definitely gonna be using that kit as well in this build. I've got so much to finish at the moment for what I have in store at the present time for this build, as well as many future ideas to last the rest of this year. That, and I'll be moving soon so I'll possibly be out of commission for a week while we get everything situated. Good thing is, I'll have plenty of pictures to post once we get it all done!
  8. Ok, so compared to my normal stuff, this one is pretty tame. No added guns, no flair- just a plain old '72 Olds Cutlass that's been shot at, scratched up, and been in and out of scrapes with the enemy. Lucky for the driver of this vehicle, he is a mechanic- so you'll notice that the engine compartment is well taken care of as compared to the exterior. I also opted out for a LOT of rust, I did some subtle bits here and there and stuck with it. I ended up taking the sand off before it bonded, because it covered up too much detail. So, here's the "Sprinter" '72 Olds Cutlass, built for flight, not fight. More past the break...
  9. So, in an attempt to clear my head on Red Hawk's cockpit problem, I decided to do a quick build to change pace. Credit goes to Cranky for sending me this kit, it served well to get me out of the creative rut- I'm waiting for some of the details to dry on it, but I built the Revell Muscle '72 Olds Cutlass Supreme Custom pretty much out of box-ish, added some bullet holes and rust pockets, cracked the windshield, ans misted brown and sand over it for a dusty desert feel. I'm not exactly sure if it will fit in with the post-apoc build really, but who says you can't ride in style? (sort of) Once the paint and rust dries, I'll be taking pics.
  10. Oh, and what is this phrase "pace ourselves", Doc? It seems foreign to me....
  11. *points at signature* ...don't forget the twinkies...
  12. Thanks, Doc! I keep building/scrapping my Red Hawk Cockpit. I think I will eventually find that perfect fit....I hope.
  13. ....White Zombie much? LOL It's a great song...
  14. I've been bustin' tail at work for the past few days, sorry for the lack of updates- I got some more scrap signage styrene from my dad on the way home from work tonight so I could do some body work on Red Hawk tonight- probably get about half of what I wanna do tonight done, then it's off to work tomorrow. I'll keep you guys posted as I get more done, but for now it's back to the bench!
  15. SNIPER is coming along great! Hell, everyone's builds are awesome so far I'm off for the majority of the afternoon, I'll be back later to check progress and comments... and most importantly, to build more!
  16. And there ya go. Thanks for the kind words guys! I'm having a blast with this build. I think by the time it's all said and done I'll have an entire display case full for this CB alone. More to come later on, possibly on my next day off!
  17. Ok, so here's the chassis/engine for Red Hawk. It's a mid-range flight vehicle, think mix between flying car, shuttle, and urban combat fighter. I scratchbuilt this from all sorts of spares and whatnot- there's really no inspiration for this particular vehicle besides my own imagination- More past the break...
  18. Yes, I built it right so the doors open too! Red Hawk progress past the break....
  19. Swamp Runner's 'guts'- More coming...
