  1. Maybe it's the years of glue fumes, but I could swear I built a "Baja Bug" kit (Revell?) as a kid. Am I right?
  2. They look like airplane versions of "Deal's Wheels!"
  3. I looked up your posts. If you're talking about the FDNY Explorer. that got moved by a moderator because you also posted that in the wrong place. You put it in the Cars trade section, it belongs in the Trucks trade section. You really need to pay a little attention as to what you post where.
  4. I don't know about your post in the trade section, but you did something wrong today. This belongs in "Off Topic," only general model car (or real car) related topics belong in "General."
  5. I like the body/wheel color combo. Classy looking. I also agree on going with the blackwalls. You just don't see RRs of this era with whitewalls very often.
  6. Nice model of a nice car! Now open up the hood and show us the good stuff...
  7. Looks very good so far. The engine detailing is top-notch.
  8. Apparently he takes really long breaks between appearances here.
  9. I really like the interior. I like how you used slightly different shades of tan... makes the interior look like a real car, not a model. Nice work.
  10. Is Robin supposed to be holding on to the edge of the canopy? Maybe he needs to be sitting on a scale phone book!
  11. "Pusillanimous" wishing? I think Art wins the "Ten Dollar Word of the Week" award!
  12. You need to either enlarge the tire openings or sand down the wheels, because the wheels are sticking out way too far from the tires... it looks odd.
  13. I can't necessarily make a persuasive business case for them, but those Studebaker pickups Greg posted earlier in this thread are way cool!
  14. Cool! I love the "steering wheel!" That thing looks like it was built very well... a lot of clean craftsmanship on display.
  15. But you know about the "5 second rule" for dropped food, right?
  16. Tim is a regular contributor to Model Cars Magazine.
  17. Beautiful! The paint looks fantastic.
  18. BTW... that citrus smell of non-toxic glues isn't added in to deter glue sniffers. It's the natural smell of the active ingredient (limonene). I know that because I looked up limonene after reading Doug's post (#31).
  19. Love the mod top! BTW, Cliff is right on the chassis color. Mopars were uni-body, there was no separate chassis. The body shell (along with the underbody) was all one welded piece, primed, and then sprayed body color (by humans, not robots in those days). The humans didn't bend down and spray the entire underbody... at most, a little body color overspray got onto the underside along the sides.
  20. Good stuff! And a great video! I agree with Rich... you must have had fun doing this. Ray Harryhausen would approve...
  21. If you want the best pizza in the world (or the best hot dogs), you need to come here to Chicago. Nobody does either one better. Different... but not better. We may have the most corrupt politicians in the country... but we also have the best hot dogs and pizza!
  22. Yeah, that was also a big story here in the states. Moncton, right? Unfortunately, you can't prevent crazy.
  23. Let's stay away from the political posts.
  24. The answer is simple: Mental illness. And you can't legislate against mental illness. You can't make it illegal. And you can't prevent it. It's simply a fact that there will always be that handful of wackos out there. Always were, always will be. The reason that these sorts of incidents seem to be on the rise, IMO, is simply that we hear so much about them. Fifty years ago, the incident in Nevada would be a local story, not a national story. These days, with all of our instant communication, it's a worldwide story. Unlike the way it used to be, these days we hear about every single such incident.
