  1. ok, now that is getting a little too close for comfort.
  2. Gotta love midwest weather... The weird thing is, while all this mayhem was going on just north of me, right here all we got is light rain. No wind, no hail, no lightning and thunder... just a gentle light rain.
  3. The camera sees all...
  4. Very cool! The wheels look perfect on this car. But you need to be more careful to get the headlight lenses on straight.
  5. I don't mean to come down on Indians. I was just talking about those India-based call centers when the guy has an obvious Indian accent but says his name is "Bill" or "Joe" or some other American name... when you know that's not really the case! In fact, I once saw a story on 60 Minutes on those Indian call centers that American companies use. They even train the call center employees how to speak with an "American" accent.
  6. So I called the Genie customer service help line. A tech walked me through a step-by-step diagnosis, testing everything until he determined what the problem was... a bad RPM sensor. Exactly what I thought the problem was after I had done some online research. So the fact that the Genie tech came to the same conclusion after the trouble-shooting sequence is good enough for me. I just ordered the replacement part... we'll see if that was the problem once the part arrives. And BTW... the tech was an American, not some guy in India named "Brad." Nice to know that we still do something here in the USA!
  7. I've mentioned this idea before, on other threads, but I'll repeat it here because it makes sense to me. If I ran a model company, my company's website would have a very prominent area where people could leave direct feedback as to what new kits they would like to see. Either an open-ended "let us know" type of thing, or a list of possible subjects the company was considering, to allow people to vote for the one they would most like to see (configured so that every person could only vote once, maybe via cross-linking to your email address or some other way to prevent people from stuffing the ballot box). I know that the model companies keep tabs on the various forums, but it seems to me that having a place for direct customer feedback on your website would be a logical thing to do. It would offer the manufacturers a way to directly gauge the interests of their customers. I don't know why all kit manufacturers don't so that. That sort of information is something I would definitely want to have if I ran a model company.
  8. No, you're not the only one. Me neither!
  9. Seems like we all have our own cross to bear... wild fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes...
  10. Welcome aboard, Kenneth M.
  11. Come on, Rich. You know you can't leave them as is...
  12. Well, as long as your several hour long search was enjoyable...

    Cool!
  14. And if there's enough snow on the ground, you have to shovel before you can open them. No thanks.
  15. I heard that in parts of Illinois near me (not actually by me, thank goodness, but just north), there was hail 2 1/2 inches in diameter! Ken, you must be in the area that got hit with that stuff.
  16. Wait... what? You're 15???!!! Wow. There are a lot of adults with a lot of years experience under their belt that can't build like that!
  17. My only question is what's up with that thick vertical foil strip on the side? I assume that's supposed to be a door edge protector? I say lose it... it looks out of place on the model. Just my opinion, of course...
  18. No time today for my phone troubleshooting session. Maybe tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it goes. They make overhead doors that look just like swing-outs on the outside. My neighbor down the street has them.
  19. I agree with those who say the TV Batmobile from the '60s is the one and only. By far, the best looking of all the various Batmobiles.
  20. Both are absolutely beautiful!
  21. Don't feel bad about that. A wife and kids isn't all lollipops and rainbows, lemme tell ya!!!
  22. Charlie, I like the way you think.
  23. Modern medicine is pretty amazing.
  24. Cute little guy!
