  1. The one in the photo is a slightly later model year, I think. I'll be keeping the kit wheels.
  2. I think the bad fit of the bumper on this particular one was probably a result of a parking lot ding or something like that. Photos of others show a better fit.
  3. This weeks car is a 1989 Laforza. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laforza Who got it right: wisdonm trogdor Chris R kataranga MikeMc Badluck 13
  4. That guy's work has been posted here several times. He's good, no doubt about it. But the dead giveaway is that there are never any people in any of his scenes.
  5. Looks very good, but I think the rear panel and taillight surrounds should be flat black.
  6. Or the old SNL skit where the rabbi was performing a circumcision in the back seat!!! BTW... beautiful model! Very nicely done, and the half roof looks great.
  7. No, the plane is still in progress. It got kind of sidetracked by other stuff, but I will add new photos.
  8. Did you happen to read the part where I say don't post the answer here???? It sort of ruins it for everyone else. And BTW... it's Kia and Hyundai. Neither of which is even close to the right answer.
  9. Lately I've posted a lot of my models from the "brass age" and even earlier, the most recent post being the 1886 Daimler Motorkutsche. These have all been "Under Glass" type posts of the finished product, but this time I'm going to do a pretty detailed WIP. The subject: a 1/16 scale Dennis fire truck I bought on ebay. Dennis was a British manufacturer of commercial vehicles including buses, fire trucks, airport service vehicles, and more. The specific subject of this thread has been issued under various brand names over the years... this happens to be the Entex version. The kit is very nice... a lot of detail, a lot of working features, and a lot of parts... more than 500. The kit is molded in black, red, white, blue, brass plated, matte chrome (aluminum) plated, brown, and clear, and includes wiring, tubing, steel grommets, string, gears, chain, and all sorts of various other detail parts including four fireman figures in vintage uniforms (two seated and two standing). The finished model is about 17 inches long. Here's a shot of the box cover: And here's a shot of the real thing: I plan to chronicle this project fairly intensely, step by step, and I will explain my techniques and procedures as I go along, including what is for me a "first," painting the firemen figures. Yeah, I'm going to give away my detailing "secrets!" Stay tuned...
  10. Which is sicker? The people responsible for creating those atrocities... or the people willing to pay money to buy those atrocities?
  11. On a Mac keyboatd it's option, 4. ¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢
  12. "More valuable" how? To buy and resell with the intent of making a profit? Or to buy for your own enjoyment? If the answer is to buy with the intent of reselling for a profit, nobody can say. A model, built or unbuilt, is only as valuable as whatever a buyer is wiling to pay for it. Look at ebay and check the prices, that'll give you an idea of current market prices. Just remember that prices can fluctuate wildly from one day to the next. If the answer is to buy for your own enjoyment, then only you can decide which is more valuable.
  13. Somebody screwed up. Or the tires represent the new NHRA "Funny car in the rain" class...
  14. I don't see much to criticize here. You did a beautiful job as far as I can see.
  15. That's a nice little model.
  16. Looks pretty good to me. What scale is that? Also... the amount I know about these types of cars is approximately ZERO. So am I seeing things correctly? The engine was mounted crosswise? Was that common or was this some sort of one-off experiment, like the Indy turbine car?
  17. Check your PM inbox.
  18. Maybe if it was a 1913 Aventador...
  19. I still haven't decided if I want one.
  20. Oooooooh... Thanks.
  21. Not to be a wise guy, but seriously I'm curious what's going on there with the upper radiator hose? It looks like there are two separate hose connections, and one is "empty."
  22. Specifically I need a resin tire cast off an existing 1/16 scale rubber kit tire that I would mail to you. I don't necessarily need the casting to be flexible or soft–regular old resin would be fine. I can paint it flat black. No hurry or deadline. I would cover your time, materials, etc. Anyone who can do the job (and is willing to do it, of course!), send me a PM.
  23. I agree. That was the same problem I had–way too focused on one specific political issue, way too much political "insider" stuff back and forth over that one particular issue. I would love to have seen Spielberg do a more overall bio of the man.
  24. A wise guy!
