  1. As mentioned, get a double-action airbrush. Slightly more expensive than a single-action, but much better flexibility and control. Stick with a well-known name brand and you can't go wrong... they're all good. Most people will tend to recommend the brand that THEY bought, but in reality all the big manufacturers make excellent airbrushes. Paasche, Iwata, Badger, Grex are all good brands.
  2. Don't understand why you guys are ripping Photobucket. I've used it for many years and never have had the slightest problem.
  3. Looks very good so far...
  4. New big scale product! Gotta love it!!! Hey, if you guys at TDR ever decide to carry on where Pocher left off, I think I might just have to give all of you a big old man-hug!!!
  5. Trying to get back on schedule...
  6. Any new large-scale product gets my attention... Of course, price will be a factor.
  7. My sort of self-imposed rule is that the car I feature is not a concept, one-off or custom... it had to be manufactured in quantity (not necessarily mass quantities) and have been available for sale to the general public. One-offs, concept cars, etc would be way too hard. This one was a little too easy, but I did think I'd fool at least some of you into thinking that it was one of those Russian knock-offs from the 50s.
  8. uh oh... I forgot you. And last but not least, Mark Taylor also got it correct! Once again, Mark Taylor, ladies and gentlemen!!!
  9. Chuck, your buildup and review of this kit is admirable, but as far as NASCAR and, ah, ahem, "stock car" racing goes... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............. Any interest I may have had was lost when the only remaining "stock" part was the roof panel. And that was a loooooooong time ago. Just one man's opinion...
  10. I always love hearing from a satisfied customer! And thanks for the thumbs-up on models featured that might not necessarily be your cup of tea. We try to feature a wide variety of models, and even if a particular feature isn't what you personally are interested in, there are probably going to be things that you can apply to your own particular subject preferences.
  11. You had time for the thin red trim around the back, and the silver trim around the grille openings, but no time to paint the area between the front bumpers??? Come on...
  12. If you're looking for a kit that a kid can easily build, what does it matter if it's "rare"?
  13. Nice! Thanks for posting.
  14. Beautiful car. My uncle had one "back in the day"... white with a red interior. I loved it!
  15. I was going to put in a bid, but my garage is already full and I really don't want to park it in the driveway with winter coming...
  16. Every time I see another one of your insanely creative projects, I'm faced with the same moral dilemma: Do I tell him how cool his model is? Or do I call up and warn his doctor that he's off his meds again???
  17. I mean, I know California is broke... but you guys still get electricity, right???
  18. Might want to try turning on a light???
  19. Uh... his name is DAVID.
  20. And wine is supposed to be drunk, and stamps are supposed to go on an envelope, etc. You get the point. Some people build models, some collect them. Personally, an unbuilt model in a box has no value to me. I buy "rare" Pocher kits and build them... I couldn't care less that I may have "ruined" the value of an old, rare kit by building it, but to a collector, the whole point is having that model unbuilt in a box, and a serious collector will pay serious money for a model he wants. Builder, collector... to each his own.
  21. He may as well ask a lot for it. Who knows, maybe he gets a buyer who really, really wants that kit. And even if he doesn't get anything even close to his asking price, well... it doesn't hurt to ask! I don't see any problem here at all. There's the kit, there's the asking price. Now it's up to the buyers.
  22. Look on the bright side. You still have all 10 fingers. At least I assume you do!
  23. Nicely done, but for me the only Batmobile that counts is the 60's TV car!
  24. Now load up the deck with a big ol' turkey deep fryer held to tiedown rings on the deck(with plenty of fat splatter all over the deck) and a couple of cases of beer, build yourself a few folding patio chairs, and you got yourself a diorama! Have turkey, will travel! Just in time for Thanksgiving!
