  1. That came out nice TJ. Maybe a little blackwash between the grille bars on the front fenders and possibly on the hubcaps...
  2. That's a good looking Ford Jim.
  3. Welcome to our plastic playground Warren. You'll find a wealth of tips and "tricks" on this Forum from loads of members. Just look in the Tips & Tricks threads.
  4. That is a dynamite looking Poncho Ken.
  5. Wow... Some really great looking cars Gerry. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Yeah Joe, you gotta love those big, finned Mopars. I owned a '59 Dodge Coronet for a few years back in the late 90's that I was slowly turning into a mild custom. Man I loved that car.
  7. Welcome to our plastic playground Kendall.
  8. Welcome to our plastic playground Brandon. You sound like just about everyone else on this Forum...... many models finished and many more waiting.
  9. The interior and firewall look great Tyler.
  10. My wife returned home from the hospital today. Her swelling and joint pain has subsided for now. She was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. A prescription given for a type of steroid pill that will help her. Sucks getting old...
  11. I always like the look of the triple, chromed air cleaners on a Rod..
  12. Welcome to our plastic playground Thomas.
  13. Welcome to our plastic playground James.
  14. Thanks Harry... and you're absolutely right. Jill keeps saying that she just wants to get out of there, but I've told her to grin and bear it, tough it out, and let them do what needs to be done to figure out what is causing the swelling.
  15. Thank you all very much for your well wishes. We're still waiting for answers from the various tests.
  16. I love all those Edsels Jan.
  17. Oh man... I haven't had good homemade potato pancakes in many years... I like them with apple sauce, but my wife likes them with sour cream. Joe, I seriously doubt that my wife and I were the inspiration for anything.
  18. What hobby shop was that Matthew... Maybe Hobby Express on Rte. 228 in the Lowe's Shopping Center...?? That's my favorite LHS.
  19. Today my wife was admitted to UPMC Hospital in Cranberry because of unexplained swelling of her legs, feet and hands, and bad joint pain. So far tests have ruled out fluid around the heart, or in or around the lungs. She was transferred to another UPMC location in McCandless, PA where they can do more extensive "searching" for the cause of the swelling and the joint pain. We'll hopefully know more tomorrow. She's not thrilled about having to stay overnight, but I told her to grin and bear it as they need to find out what is wrong. She is 68 and is an extreme "worry-wart".
  20. Ditto to what Harry said. If the oil pan is not a separate piece be sure to sand the seams where the parts joined after the liquid glue has fully dried along with any seams on the engine block/transmission assembly. If there are any "gaps" along the seams after sanding, then fill them with some squadron putty or some CA glue and then resand it all smooth before painting.
  21. Joe, I haven't been back to New York since 2007 for my niece's wedding. However, my wife makes a yearly trip back there to visit a couple of her girlfriends on L.I. and her older sister who lives in Floral Park. She always brings back several dozen bagels and good Kaiser rolls. She slices them all in half and freezes them so we can enjoy them for a few months. Another thing I really miss here is getting a good corned beef sandwich, and really good chopped liver. I'm sure we could probably find a good Deli in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh, but we haven't been adventurous enough to go looking. When we visit our daughter in Fairfax. VA, we get good deli food at a place called Chutzpah and I always get a half pound of chopped liver to go. The funny thing is, my wife is Jewish and I'm Catholic...... and I love all the Jewish Deli food.
  22. Boy this is one mouth-watering thread going on here...... I love avocados... in a salad or to make guacamole... but I've never actually had any on a sandwich. I love a good potato knish... cut in half with brown mustard... yummm. My wife likes smoked whitefish or "kippered" and smoked salmon... me not so much... too strong a fishy flavor for me. Yes, New York water is the secret for the best bagels, cheesecake and pizza dough. The best canolis also come from NY.
  23. Welcome to our plastic playground Bud.
  24. Joe, I remember the name "Trunz Meats" but never shopped in either Williston Park or Port Washington.
  25. You made a pretty cool looking Rod... Nice job Ray.
