  1. I'm on a cell phone that is very limited in it's capabilities. I've never turned on a computer. Most, if not all, of the "lingo" I've heard has been on this site in the last 3-4 months. I'd LOVE to learn more, just not feasible at this time. Ah, unless my phone is considered a computer? I got it in Sept. '11. My 1st exposure to the internet.
  2. Cool shocks,Scott. I've never seen that done before. But, 3 months ago I didn't know about Evergreen or Plastruct or pin-vises, etc. Such a great education to be had here!
  3. Beg to differ a little, Jim. Much is new in computer/internet lingo. Words may be the same but meanings are different. "Cut" & "paste" come to mind. I know what they used to mean, but, being computer illiterate, I couldn't define them as they pertain to that technology.
  4. Very pretty, well built car. I love the color.
  5. I don't remember specifics, unfortunately, but I had a David Pearson #21 model in the early '70s that had a clear body. I think it was a Pontiac Le mans? I'd like to see that one again. Maybe someone else remembers it, too?
  6. I've never been to a model car show other than what might be at a 1:1 show. I did find myself having to go into Houston to get a new outfit for my daughter the other day. While there we accidently found a Hobby Lobby. I bought 2 pro-street '66 Novas, a tack rag, some glue & some paint. We drove a round trip of over 130 miles, which I won't do in this economy, for the hobby. I get nearly everything I want from trading on this forum or buying from vendors. I get paint from Wal-mart whenever we DO go(40 mile r.t.). There is a hobby shop/junk store-mostly train stuff-that I go by every time we go to Wal-Mart, but he has only been open once. So I do try to be frugal. I don't mind spending on quality, I recently purchased a resin '65 Satellite for my Mopar collection, so I'm not cheap. I'll spend what I have to & save when I can. I'd say I'm frugal. Yes, I even save sprues, lol.

    VW 1300

    That's a nice looking bug!
  8. I think that's the ticket! I've seen it at the local Wal-Mart. So, off we go! Thanks, Don!
  9. Sounds geat. Thanks.
  10. That would be nice, Erik! If I were to complete replicas of all my 1:1s, I would need a '68(Malibu Concours)!! As it stands, I'm still on #1 with about 30 or so to go.
  11. Hey Don, looking good! How do you think that textured paint would work as 1:25 bediner?
  12. It says in the item description: Used. If it was original cellophane, would he still have say "used" due to age alone? I don't know, I'm curious myself. Can you advertise a kit that old as NIB if it's never been opened? I would if I could?I
  13. Kansas?
  14. .......Ditto, Casey! I failed miserably with the Orange crate in the early '70s.
  15. Scream! I get it! Awesome, Don. Goes great with the cartoon theme.
  16. welcome. Nice old builds. Love the bug most. Look forward to seeing more builds.
  17. This looks like fun!
  18. That looks so cool, Scott. I was gonna offer to let you borrow my Mopar or no car" dvd. It has a very good view of Pete Hamilton's '70 Superbird engine that shows the intake up close & personal, lol. Looks like you have some decent ref pics, but your welcome to use it if you want.
  19. ...This might be the most insightful thing I've read in these forums!
  20. Jantrix, You actually did agree with me. I have 2 prime examples in my house. 16 & 10 yr old daughters who are both straight-honor roll students. I just dropped a lot of $ last night for a new outfit for a speech she is to give on Sat. for the honor society. She is so into technology that I have to ask her to put her "phone" down & come back to Earth. I guess my point is: No matter how a child is raised & educated, the power & appeal of technology is gonna get em.
  21. ......Maybe a sliver of a hoodscoop like a '67 GTX or '70 Super Bee might fit between tire & fender?
  22. It's looking so cool, Scott. Did you find out anything on the intake?
