I can see the end of the road for us file and sandpaper guys. 3D printing is getting better all the time, and I need to learn to draw in 3D or get left behind.
-
Thanks! The more parts, the less affordable. That's why I'm doing a '76 Montego, you can use the (Revell) Torino interior. I've also considered doing the performance dash, I've just been overwhelmed with projects. I'm not against doing a '72 Montego GT, but if it requires me to make an interior, the price will go up. I'm basing all the Montegos on the Revell Torino, because it's much easier for the buyer to afford than the arguably superior JoHan kit.

Thanks. I fixed that notch at the lower rear part of the cab.

I would assume it would be a similar kit to this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1977-1978-Thunderbird-resin-kit-1-25th-Ford-T-Bird/154383045151?hash=item23f1f2521f:g:Ae8AAOSwFSpfC4U0

More likely they want to track your activities to aim advertisements toward you (and your phone). From Rachael, the Paypal moderator: Thanks for posting in relation to this issue.Unfortunately it is not currently possible to use PayPal without a mobile phone number attached to your account. This does not need to be a smartphone, a basic mobile will do. We use mobile verification as a means of confirming your identity when you are accessing your account.Rachael

I hear what you're saying, but we want to keep the cost down. I don't think we'll do the frame, but I'll see about the bench seat. I hadn't actually thought about the Deserter having buckets.
-
I haven't tried it, but the Deserter should work fine. The 1978 Chevy grille will be supplied with the kit.
-
I can't speak for the caster, but in the past projects have been announced here.
-
Thank you. The truck is based off the old MPC 1978 kit, which is 1/25.

How about a '59 & 60 Edsel wagon??
Repstock replied to ranma's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/25-1959-edsel-villager-wagon-resin-1850506352 Looks like someone has done the '59. -
I'll let the casters announce when they're ready to sell, but here's what I've got: The 1977 Cougar is made from Paul Hettick's excellent Thunderbird kit...ready to ship. The 1967 Chevrolet 4-door I was going to sell myself, but recent developments at Paypal have forced me to reconsider how to pay the caster to get it done. This one may be delayed. The 1978 Chevrolet pickup with Silverado trim added. I couldn't bring myself to sand off the beautiful Scottsdale scripts...you'll have to do it. This is going to a Detroit area caster. Not shown is the 1971 Oldsmobile 98 Regency, which just needs a few touch-ups before it's ready to ship for casting.
-
Looks like trouble. I was going to pay the caster with my Paypal funds, but I'm locked out of my account because I don't have a cell phone. Pretty sure I'm not going to be coerced into purchasing one just to please them.
-
I've been locked out of my Paypal account because I don't have a cell phone. You could say I'm a bit irked. My address is verified, what more do they want?
-
Master is complete and smoothed out. I'm most of the way to raising money for the casting. I went ahead and removed the Impala trim, she's bare-bones now.
-
No sense following this one any more. I sold it as is.
-
Thinking about picking this up again. I've had it at this stage for years...The paint is not as good as the photos suggest.

1968 Dodge D800 Dump
Repstock replied to DRIPTROIT 71's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
It's on the list. Kits with fewer parts are less expensive to cast, so it's a good candidate. -

Believe it or not, casting is closer than ever. I have a few others to do first. I'll need to fix the Dodge grille first. -

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but i tried one, and didn't get the grille right. Can you supply more pics of your front end so I can fix it? Should probably do it outside this thread, cmhjets@outlook.com. -
Just the body shell.
-
We discussed different options. In the past, I've always gotten a few examples from the caster, and whatever they made after that was theirs. This caster preferred to offer me an entire run, and then I make my money back by selling them. I know of a very large caster that will also sell entire runs, return your master, and have no further stake in it. I'm OK with either system.
-
No just the body, It's all I can afford just to have the body cast.

AMT F350 restoration
Repstock replied to junkyardjeff's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Seems an odd combination. An extended wheelbase F-350 Super Camper Special full of heavy duty components, with a six. I'm not slamming, because there is no reason a truck could not be ordered this way. Makes you wonder about the back story for this truck, why the original owner ordered it this way. Adds to the mystique! -
My error, I guess a moderator will have to move it(?)
