Yes, I did use the new release Dodge cab. It already had the trim removed. Thank you for the kind words! -
New Dodge build

I got mine as discontinued stock in 1990. They are RMB Miniature bearings, Part #908660 marked 1989. I understand these are expensive, you can get similar bearings from other sources much cheaper. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and got 100 bearings of several sizes for free. At the time, I had no use for them, but I figured I'd find one some day. If you remember the H-series truck I built eons ago- it has a set and it still functions perfectly. All my truck builds have them, in fact. As an aside, it IS a pain to get the wire axle bent correctly and blended with the plastic parts, but it's VERY strong once you do. Sand the axle first to get the oil off and rough it up for best bond. We met at a show once, I'm thinking it was the NNL East(?) some time ago (the same year Juha Airio was there)...I thought your builds were very impressive. -
If it does have the '68 option, it would have to include vent windows to be complete. I only build 1/25 (scale bigot), but that kit sure does make a nice looking GTO. I had a real '69 LeMans, and that Revell body sure looks right to me. Very nice looking kit you have there...well done!

New Dodge build

If anyone likes to waste time making their trucks roll, as I do, here is how I do it. It's really strong and will last longer than you (or I) will. I'm not promoting building roller kits, but probability suggests there should be a few out there so afflicted. This is for you. There's virtually no loss of detail. The reason the disk is a little larger than the tube section is this: I like to run a small bead of superglue there to help the liquid cement that was used to attach the disk. My wife says I build as if my models had to survive a nuclear war. I notice after posting the pic the sample axle looks like it has horrible alignment. I assure you that is the camera lens, and not reality. -

Maybe I should make it some kind of forest fire brush truck? -

There's no resin in this kit so far. I started with a Dodge pickup cab and made the rest. I thought the subject too odd to offer to a caster. Thank you and everyone else for your feedback. -
I started this Dodge project a few weeks ago. Thought I'd post a few pics. If a part isn't from scratch, I'm using bits of the Dodge pickup (obviously), the L700, and the C cab stakebed. The frame is drying right now, so I had a few minutes to post. I LOVE those MAD (Morgan Automotive Detail) distributors...such a time-saver!

Totally agree. The Moebius trucks are more detailed, but the AMT kit captures the look of the subject better. The AMT kit has a few shape faults, but the Moebius trucks have tons of them. On the plus side, Moebius at least gave us different engines, interiors, and trim levels (although some of the trim levels aren't correctly represented by the parts). Actually, I've been updating all my AMT builds with Moebius engine compartments, engines, chassis, and tires. The parts interchange between the two nicely.

When a police officer was at our home (for an unrelated matter), he told us that about half the calls he responded to were social media (facebook primarily) related. When I want to catch up with friends and family, E-mails and the phone work just fine.

X2 on these...

Same goes for you. It was a pleasure, and obviously we are both happy with the deal. Thanks!

1/24 or 1/25 '66 Hasegawa Bonneville?

The body is OK, but the interior is a generic fantasy. Same for the chassis. -

I got two of those on eBay years ago. Both were Buy it now...one was $25.00, the other was $50.00. I found a mint unbuilt 1/32 International cabover at a show for $40.00. Of course these cases are by far the exception.

I got the top all polished out. I figured since I used the buildings for the reflection in the top, I might as well show what they look like. They have become kind of a catch-all. Because the top is layers of epoxy putty, primer, and paint (over plastic, of course), I'm not going to scribe it for fear of chunks breaking off. I have received another interior to do, so again, I have to stop working on this for a few weeks. -
I use Tamiya flat black and do any clean-up work with a cotton swab dampened with Windex.

If I understand your question correctly, the window frames on the side windows are part of the wagon kit.

I wonder where they are. The shops I'm aware of all serve R/C guys with models and paints tucked in a corner, or serve railroad guys with no models cars at all. If you want to buy paint, they're OK, but if you do any serious scratch building, they are near useless. Hobbyland was my go-to until the revamp, now they have just the basics. I'm tired of driving all the way out there just to find they don't have what I'm after, anyway. I hate paying shipping costs, but at least online I can get what I wan't. I didn't abandon the local hobby shop...they abandoned me.
