  1. Not yet, but I have it sitting where I have to see it every day. Sooner or later I'll dive back in and finish the master. There's not that much more to do. If only I were retired....
  2. In all seriousness, I'm curious as to whether that paint scheme was offered without the trim pieces. I suppose a person could paint their truck any way they wanted. A nice, neat job at any rate. Every 35 series truck I've seen is a dually.
  3. Yes, i made a new grille to fit this car. I cast about 10 front ends and grilles, but never thought about offering them as a kit. A caster friend of mine is doing the bumpers, I can't do 2-piece molds. The AMT chassis, surprisingly, only needs the chassis behind the rear wheel wells narrowed, and the rear wheel well shape finessed. The rest fits as is.
  4. After trying to build the new full-bumper Camaro kit, I realized I was never going to be happy with it. I decided to build an old MPC kit, update it with the new parts, and try again to make a 1973 Camaro.
  5. Neat idea and great execution! I'm more of a thin crust guy, though.
  6. Not to butt in, but that trim was present on the original issues.
  7. How will I be able to determine when these are ready for purchase? Is there a site I can check? I'd hate to miss out.
  8. I think I'll do the same. I can't think of a better way. Thanks!
  9. I'm converting the new AMT full-bumper Camaro to a 1973 car from my youth. It was a 350 2bbl, 4 speed car with added headers. I hope the pictures describe things well. More to come as I get things done. The front area below the front bumper does not fit well, and takes some work to get it installed. In my opinion, the front and rear areas MUST be attached to the body before paint. I'll figure out how to get the chassis in later.
  10. If you're going to do this kind of Nova, be warned: the AMT based version has a chopped top. Try to find the MPC based model. The Venturas, luckily, were MPC. Bad Nova, and everything based on it. Good Nova, and everything based on it.
  11. I used to swear by this clear, now I won't touch it. I assume they changed the formula(?)
  12. Honestly, I've considered trying to do a Grand Ville, but I'm not convinced it would sell well. The Ninety-Eight might not either, but in the beginning I was building it for me. Several people expressed interest, so I decided to have it cast. One very talented individual intends to modify my Ninety Eight into a 4 door version. I'll have to get one of those! A '71 version.
  13. Kris is the man. Really nice guy. I'd like to get up to Detroit before the year is out, and hang out with the gang...of which Kris is a member. By the way, if you see this, Kris, I have a master project in mind you might want to discuss.
  14. There are no pronounced ridges here as on the kit. A relatively easy fix, though. LOVE the full-bumper version!
  15. I need to finish mastering the parts. The rest is up to my caster.
  16. Funny...that's exactly what I intend to base the bumper on. I just stripped the chrome on it.
  17. This model is based on the Juha Airio 1971 Delta 88 Royale kit. Juha has approved this conversion. It is a master for an upcoming resin offering. Please excuse the picture quality.
  18. If you do want to build the trailer, I've done it before. Really nice job on the Firebird! https://jimsuva.typepad.com/blog/2019/03/the-rockford-files-124th-scale-diorama.html
  19. This is what I use: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Plastic-Diamond-Pattern-Treadplate-2-pack-by-Don-Mills-Models/311973902045?hash=item48a317f6dd:g:q9gAAMXQfvlSm6XU
  20. They seem to love it! https://myairbrushcompressors.com/review-master-tc-20t/
  21. Not too bad, except for the fingers.
  22. THIS IS NOT RIVET COUNTING! I'm just making some observations for those who may want to know. I'm thrilled to have the kit, and I already have two. I'm not going to pick on proportions, only black-and-white things. Here we go: The grille outside the headlights should have as many bars as the grille. I think the arrangement on the kit is SS only. I don't think a 4 door would have the rear seat speaker. That was a 2 door only thing. The front bumper guards are molded into the front end, so they go all the way to the grille- there is no space between front bumper guard and grille (the rears are separate). The Chevrolet script in the grille is too high, probably to clear the bumper guard. In real life, part of the script would be behind the bumper guard. That's it from a casual glance. I am glad they did the kit. Really looks cool.
  23. I'd love to build a stock Swinger some day. When the time comes, mind if I pick your brain?
  24. This board seems populated with encouraging builders. Thanks for your comments...it's a good for the motivation. That being said, if something looks like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH, tell me so I can fix it.
