Very nice Jim. I will give you a call this weekend. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers -
Thanks Brett. To my advantage, he will have this thing wrecked in no time lol. He is a hard man on equipment. So the process should be black, green then white? Got it. He wants tinted windows but not black. I have some tinted plasti dip here. Think that would seal it up as a last step? Provided there is no reaction with it

I would love to do that but I'm 3 hours away from my hobby shop that sells it. So I was hoping to use what I had. I guess I may get the body he does not need and test a bit unless anyone has a better plan. Don't see why it wouldn't work unless the regular paints are not hot enough to bite. They claim you can't use the pactra RC line on styrene but I have with great results. Dupli color sealer is a wonderful thing! : )

Looks great. Love the grabber blue. If you are going stock though the roof should be black

Not sure if this is the right place so move if you need to. Anyway, a friend came to me with an interesting project. He is doing a 1/8scale rock crawler and he brought me a first gen bronco body. He wants a green similar to grabber green with white grille and flares. My questions are these. Will Tamiya paints stick to the scuffed polycarbonate body? I want to the white and black areas first then spray the entire inside green. Will that work? Don't wanna mess it up because the body cost like 50 dollars lol. And advice would be welcomed

Agreed. Truly a world changing day no matter where you live. Something I hope we never see again. Scary times we live in right now : (

His was 69,5xx CDN plus taxes by the way. silver/ black hood, 6 speed preferred pkg so no big stereo etc. price was right on pace with my 14 gt500 so nice work dodge! The camaros are more money for the z28 up here. Like 80+ The best part for him is is his 15 order is not picked, our dealer guaranteed in writing he would get a 16 at same money. THAT is how you market cars. The other manufacturers should take note

Correct, gas tank in cowl. Maybe a quick game af Yahtzee was ongoing in the pics. Lol -
I actually love what dodge is doing regarding allotments of cars. They claim they will build all that are ordered. How they are doing it is like this. First they look to see what you are ordering for cars, priority goes to dealers who sell a lot of challengers/ chargers. Then they will be looking at sales over last 120 days. From there they will give you the cars but not all at once. Then as they sell one they get another. The goal of this is to keep dealers from putting huge dealer mark ups on them. Dodges business plan for this is great. The ford and gm guys and the viper guys know the dealer markup game all too well. So by only sending hellcats to dealers motivated to sell them they will hit the goal of getting them on the streets at a reasonable price. I know I have been lucky and have not had to pay an ADM on any of my cars but I also have had an 18 yr relationship with my SVT dealer. My friend who ordered a hellcat gets his at sticker also. Can't wait to line them up. We live in a small town so our goal is to take two of the baddest machines ever made and go hurt some feelings : )

That was never disputed. I know for fact it makes roughly 635 at the tire. That's 25 more than the Shelby. The tq numbers are almost identical. What is in dispute with that knowledge are the rest of the numbers when it's over 600 pounds heavier. If you know anything about vehicles that's where the math falls short Like I said. I will wait till one drags me down the highway...
-
Depends where you get your numbers... I will just re state what I said earlier, the hero car the numbers came from was a pre production car that did not yet have EPA certification and a team of dodge engineers tweaking on it every pass. Those numbers have not been repeated by any mag yet and range from 11.4 xx to 12.xx so while everyone is getting all tingly down south for this thing I will just wait and line one up. Ever wonder why the gt500 wasn't invited to the shootout?? MARKETING! Everyone knows the camaros are slow, thus they ran the z28 and not the zl1. Dodge made pretty bold claims and the marketing machine at dodge is making sure they are reflected in print. Look at the big picture! Funny how when the 662 hp Shelby came out motor trend said it was silly to focus raw power over handling but now they claim that is pretty cool now that dodge is doing it?? I'm not saying it's not a great car. I like them and may get one but do I think it's the best thing since sliced bread? Hardly. I watched a dodge dyno session and the thing overheated and pulled all the power out on the 2nd pull! I think heat soak may be a real problem. Shelby's get that too but not like that! There is my rant. I am bowing out of this thread until there are real cars at real dealers in the hands of real people putting up real numbers

Well I can see some of your point. You dodge boys have not had much to cheer about in years. I guess us ford fan boys can give you this one thing for a little while as from 07-14 we had the big boy toys. I can't wait for my friends kitty to show up so I can drag it down the highway like I do everything else I have run... Oh, but I will give you this, dodge diesels are the king! Got 5 of them!

Oh, and yes the wheels went a bit wonky but no worries they will all be straight when it's done. Just a little slop in the factory mounting pins -

Bit of an update, having multiple bodies sure saves paint! Mini tubs are in, all trimming of rear seat and interior panels complete, trans crossmember is in, final engine placement is set. It's really starting to come together now. The paint can start to fly once I fab up headers and full exhaust including the trademark lx tailpipes but in full 3".
