  1. They had comp orange on the boss in 12.
  2. Did you know those are the same wheel covers used on the 65 z16 Chevrolet and some mopars? True story
  3. I listed all the differences. There are several. Many the average joe will not even notice. And no ford did not build the 427 sohc cars. The racers backed by ford did. Ford never installed a 427 sohc in anything. You bought them in crates.
  4. I would love to see the 1/12 65 Shelby come back
  5. The horizontal cluster was used on non gt cars until 66. The gt got the round dial cluster and then it became standard in 66. Camera black finish on standard cars and wood grain on gt's
  6. By 70 this smog stuff was on most of the ford stuff. Even up here in canada. This is a Kansas City car btw : ) Thanks for the responses. More updates soon. It's moving along nicely. Something has to go wrong soon....
  7. Umm NO. completely incorrect. ALL V8 cars were 5 lug and the 6 cylinder cars were 4 lug
  8. Oh and the 4 speed was a T-10. The top loader didn't come until the later cars in 65. They are hard to come by. I still currently have a 65 fastback getting the full gt350 cloning and a 66 gt fastback and a 66 convertible. A factory red 289 auto car at that
  9. 64 1/2 had beveled headlight buckets in inside edges because lip of hood was not folded over like on 65s. The rad support had 3 cooling holes on generator side, they had non movable seat tracks, gauge cluster had gen instead of alt warming light. Headliner was different moon skin material, the D code 289 4 barrel was only offed in first 6 months which if you were lucky to find one was a dead giveaway. True all were titled as 65s they ran the first run with these oddities until the end of May. I restored and sold an April 17 built D code 4 speed 64 1/2 coupe in prarie bronze with black interior a few yrs ago so I know the subject : ). I also know how hard some of the parts are to find. The headlight buckets are costly. 25 bucks for a 65/6 bucket and up to 400 for a 64 1/2 bucket. Thank god I only needed one!
  10. Thanks. I actually used tamiya bright orange. It's pretty close. As for the hinges they are pretty simple. I watched a youtube video and went to work. I will take some pics of the hinges. I have several failed attempts on the bench. Lol
  11. Thanks. Yes they are but I drilled the dash and installed from the rear still on the paper then added a dab of this crystal glue I got somewhere. I was happy with them. I also took out the molded in pedals and used the set from a Torino gt kit
  12. Will you be taking this to dragcon mike?
  13. I took the plunge and applied 2 more coats. Went on fine. Much happier with the result. Have not used this paint much so didn't realize it settles down a lot as it dries. Look foreword to showing the result in my twister special wip
  14. Thanks. I will try on some of the small parts tonight before I hit the body
  15. You are building a mustang?? Holy BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH Mike!
  16. Thanks. I read the can and nothing on there about that stuff. I guess I will try it. Wish me luck
  17. I painted my mach in Tamiya brilliant orange and after a day and a half I am not super happy with it. I am afraid if I hit it again it will react. What is the recoat window on this stuff?
  18. Thanks. I'm not sure where those wheels came from. They are for a different project ( lawman boss). I bought a collection a while ago and he had collected parts for several neat projects. I will build them
  19. I used the landy 440 headers on my 69 super bee and they worked great. Would be nice to have a few more sets. On my duster kit I used the sbc headers from the 66 nova kit with no issues
