I was just looking at this and I just realized now that I could have more easily solved your transmission issue. Take a page from the corvette book. You could have just done a torque tube to rear mounted trans axle setup! Allows for a small tunnel.

I like this a lot. I have several of them. One unique one I want to do is a replica of a 1:1 in my area. It's panther pink with a white painted top ( not vinyl) white stripes and white interior. It's a 440 4 speed. Beautiful car

I am guessing at this point the engine bay is not in. You have some work ahead to get the nose down that far on stock suspension and those tires. I hope you get it though as it looks sweet

Oops. I re read that. It was the mid 70s. Funny thing though is now that guys owns the Torino my dad had and I am trying to buy it. Trouble is my dad sold it to this guys late brother so he kinda wants to hang on to it but understands I will give it the resto it deserves

I love hemi cars. Even though I am a die hard ford guy I like my mopars. True but sad story, one of my dad's best friends owned the car below in the mid 80s bought it with a lunched trans for 900 bucks. Still had the hemi in it then. Fixed it and drove the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH out of it. Dad's 429 Torino cobra ate it up all the time as they just couldn't get it dialed in. He sold it for 2200 and the rest is history. It sold at Barrett Jackson for 2.2 million a few yrs ago! He does not like to talk about it lol. He has a pic of it when he had it plus the pic below hanging on his tool box.

The building of the trunk so far is exactally as you described. So far I have seen 3 different trunk mats for. 70! One is like you describe but one is black and the 3 rd that I have seen in 3 cars local to me is a grey with black speckles. Not sure which way I will go yet but I had planned on roughly following the idea you posted. Thank you
