  1. I agree with Tom 100%. I use ALOT of foil. I have at least 6 sheets on hand at all times. I always foil after paint and clear as well. To me it looks more realistic than it covered under clear but that's a whole other debate lol. I always go wide enough that once burnished down there are edges that are not stuck. Makes it easy to pull off. I also found a little trick for you Harry regarding texture. When you are pulling the strip off the backing you should be pulling it over itself. But when I do that I hold a q tip and pull against it gently. It seems to take the texture away. Know what I mean? It's hard to explain. Maybe a few pics are required. This may help bust the slump lol
  2. I am using the 5 spoke wheel backs from the wheels in the RM 67 chevelle kit if that helps. I am going to try some out of the 07 Shelby kit tonight. They are a bit simple on caliper detail but I think they will look ok once painted up
  3. That works for me. I am close to having it dialed in. I had to find and modify some wheel backs from my stash. I am also looking for some nice disk brakes for all 4 corners. I will have pics up soon.
  4. Wow. Thanks for the imput guys. Seems like I am not alone in this slump thing. Lots of good ideas here. I think some of it is that winter is solidly set in here. My 1:1 cars have been in storage for quite a while and I am just bummed out. I work about 70 hrs a wk on average then we chase our kids around and when that's done well I usually am too lol. I think the first thing I am going to do is give my area a good cleanup( I did get some new to me shelving) then I am going to get this take a turn Torino wrapped up as I am eager to see what we can turn out as a group. I will see how that goes and keep you posted. That's why I love this forum. We look out for our own. Fred
  5. No Jeff, the Torino is all I am interested in at this point. It's very close to being ready for pics of final suspension mockups. Then I will tear it down and send it on. Check that forum tonight
  6. Just curious to what you guys think on this subject. I have been building models for over 30 yrs now and they are a big part of my life and who I am. Problem is, lately I can't get motivated or excited to work on anything. I go to my work space and look at all the stuff on the bench that is in every stage from the idea stage to the final touches stage and just can't work! I just sit there and look. I examine parts, I think, I just can't seem to push foreword. The rest of my life is great, maybe I work too much, my kids keep us busy with sports and stuff but geez. Maybe I just need to start a simple build? I know I can't be the only one who has felt like this before. How do some of you guys forge through it?
  7. Yes they are huge! And why? This kit or the mach 1 or the monogram boss cars were never kitted with tires big enough to need them
  8. So would the whole car have to be blue? Or could you have picked up say a white or black car with a blue shaker?
  9. Btw. 68 was only yr the 350 got a 302
  10. Incorrect. The gt350 in 69-70 had the 351w. Also for 70 were the ignition switch moved from dash to column, hood stripes and chin spoiler. I will be getting a few as well
  11. I will be ordering too. I will also be contacting you for wheels and tires for a 1/12 Shelby project
  12. I see the valve covers are not then correct wrinkle finish street hemi covers but the chrome smooth race hemi ones. Oh well. Easy to fix
  13. I went back to the convo pros on my super bee and gave them a black wash. Really sharpened them up. Is that a strange decal on the rear axle ends? If so, where did you get it?
  14. Stunning! Will you be building and offering all the bits to make a complete kit?
  15. That's good as my blown 505 is ready for the Dyno once I scratch up a blow off on the intake ducting. It's nasty! Lol
  16. Turned out great! Don't blow it up before the bee is ready..... Lol
  17. They ran a couple cars each yr. Usually a super stocker and a "grudge" car. One was rule friendly and the other was to settle rivalries. The cars were also switched around trim wise rather than building a new car every season. Slot of 69 mustangs got turned into 70s as well
  18. The Torino arrived safely in my hands today. ITS ON!
  19. Mmmm mustangs. I live eat breathe sleep for mustangs. Currently have 8 1:1s. Most recent is a 14 gt500. I may have to make the treck to this show with a few builds Lol it's ONLY a 24 hr drive for me one way
  20. I agree Mike. I doubt you or myself or many others here would even sell one of our built ups for that! I did a Jenkins 69 camaro on commission for 1k a few years ago
  21. The Shelby f100 was built just down the road from me. Have not seen it completed yet. Last I saw it was in the spring. White primer with blue stripes
  22. How do you like that snow kit? I have quite a few mustangs myself, I have a blown 97 cobra that I am contemplating meth on. My most recent money pit is my 14 gt500 that will be getting the revan 13/6 kit, long tubes, bullet cams, gears and drag radials. You on svtp ever? I'm freakshow12 over there
  23. I am at 1.33. 450 kits, 6 built last yr many wips. I gotta try and at least built 1 out of the box it came in!....
  24. Couple pretty nice mustangs right there. What's the mod list on that cobra other than the whipple? I also see 03/4 seats and brakes on that fox. What is it packing under the hood. Beautiful lx!
