  1. Another. This one was built as a base Torino with a 429 scj
  2. Ok. I did some testing, with a bit of a high spindle pin relocation the mocked up wheels WILL fit no problem and tuck up nicely. They should fit on the front to the point where the top edge of rim is at top of wheel well trim. That's a good spot. The rears should tuck in nicely too to the top of the inner wheel house. At that height the headers will clear and the car will be in the weeds. I also must note that to get the tailpipes to fit properly a small mod is required. The tabs on either side of gas tank need to be trimmed at least 1mm. Doing this gets the tips up closer to the rear pan. Left untouched they hang down too far. Here are some shots of some of the torinos I have built. These are all fairly old but I am happy with them
  3. I have a couple thoughts, on the wheels, shiny hoop/ gunmetal centers. The door panels on gt cars have woodgrain which is a decal in the kit. How about carbon fiber decal there jeff? I like that stance but it's hard to get on this front suspension so be prepared for that. I will also need to know the measurement from floor to ground in engine bay so I know headers will fit. As for breathers, I plan on making something cool for that : )
  4. I just started reading this and as soon as I saw that engine I knew you had to use the vette hood insert!! You were way ahead of me. Great work
  5. Could you show me how you did that?
  6. Good enough for me! Keep up the great build
  7. Very nice work. I gotta say though that whitewalls were never available on the 5.0
  8. Awesome! I know the engine will fit under the stock hood. ( I dislike holes in hoods) Once we get the rest of the plan I will go from there. I will put up pics of the other Torino engines I have done
  9. Let's see more of that Buick! What color is it?
  10. That looks great! The bee is coming along as well....
  11. Looks good. Nobody else noticed the trunk lid? It's supposed to be black
  12. Just curious but would the art Morrison chassis from the wagon rod kit work under there? I have used them in a few builds
  13. If anyone needs more I have a glass roof 14 in my garage : )
  14. My dad had a grabber blue 71 gt. Hideaways, louvers, caps and rings, Cleveland and a 4 Spd. Loved that car when I was a kid. He also had a dark ivy green 70 cobra. Bench seat 429 4 Spd. No wonder I love torinos. I am in the process of trying to buy the cobra back. One of dads friends has it
  15. I have built an orange twister special, a white base 429 scj car, yellow with white int/ yellow- red stripe gt, grabber blue/ blue stripe gt, silver/ red stripe gt and a brown/ tan pro touring cobra so far. I like this kit lol
  16. This is the combo I like. I could build a sweet engine AND prep a chassis for one like the yellow 71 though too. I can do whatever is asked lol
  17. Correct. The notchback and coupe are the same thing. Then the fastback and then the vert. I am lucky enough to own 1 notch,2 fast backs and one convertible
  18. ^^ this. All of mine are on the back burner too. The more I look at it the more angry I get. Lol
  19. But the fenders are way wrong. I have 3 1:1s. 84 5.0 t top RS. 85 5.0 t top RS and a 85 5.0 solid roof GS that has a really neat background.
  20. Very nice stuff. You are correct cobras had no laser stripes or the quarter panel trim. I built a twister special. I have done 6 torinos and have 9-10 more. I will have to get some pics up
  21. Must beca scale thing as the 1:1 fits no problem lol
  22. I hear ya. I own 8 mustangs at the moment and have let a few slip away. I have a soft spot for 85s. Currently have 2 5.0 capris. 84 also had the 85 up style spoiler. Some early 84s had the old 3 pc unit
  23. The sweetest torino gt I have ever seen was white with white interior and the white to blue lazer stripe.
  24. I wish this could come north of the border for me to build a perfect stock 429 cj for it. I have built several of these and have a few 1:1s to look at near me. I recently did a paint daub/ chalmark resto type twister special that won some trophys. Have fun with this one guys. OR. I could assemble an engine out of my stash and send it down if you were willing to send me the kit engine later...
