Like the stance. The engine looks great and nice to see a W engine done like this. -

Great looking paint color and finish and the body trim is all cleanly done. Like the stance and the chassis detailing. -
Should it be of interest to anyone, Steve McQueen used to do a lot of desert motorcycle racing around southern California and Lake Elsinore in particular. He would register under a made-up name. He is even mentioned and seen in a movie from the '60's called "On any Sunday". There is a volume 1 and 2. The movies focuses is about motorcycle desert racing at that time. Another rider talked about and even featured in an extensive segment is a rider named Skip Van Louen. I may not be spelling his name correctly, but he was a force in the Mexican 1000 race. He also is shown doing English Trials riding.

What did you see on the road today?

While not a style I would own, you have to appreciate the way this owner has built this car. This is an excellent example of this style of car. -

See Rob Halls post. As a school aged child one of the early school buses that I had to ride in was one of these window Suburbans. The front passenger seat would flip forward to allow entry to the rear portion of the bus. The second seat would allow two people to sit on the second-row bench and the opening allowed students to get to the rear bench seat. -
I can see a little bit of myself in each character, some more than others. I think many here would fit in the same way. Thanks for the laugh.

1950 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup

Bummer on the trim coming lose. Since the area is already painted and removing the old trim and attaching new trim and the possibility of damaging the paint, maybe clamp the trim in place and use a very small touch of glue to see if it will lay down again. -
We live on the edge of the prairie just west of Kansas City. The building in the area is slowly overtaking the old farmlands. This brings with it a lot of wildlife that is slowly being dispersed. A few years ago, my wife was on her way to work in the early morning. She phoned me at work that she had hit a Turkey with her car. These Turkeys started to fly from the brush alongside the road and one only got to the altitude of the driver's side head light and then went over the hood and almost destroyed the radio antenna on her Jimmy. When I got home and inspected the damage it didn't look like anything was wrong with the composite headlight until I started cleaning some of the said Turkey off of the headlight. The light housing was in tack and still worked fine but would wobble around and I found that the mounting parts of the headlight all broken where they mounted to the body. This was about twenty years ago and even with my employee discount the housing cost me over a $100.00 back then.

This looks better than a rush job on the build. Like the colors and finish along with the wheels.

Beautiful looking paint and stripe finish. The interior looks great.

Great looking Nova SS. The paint looks nice and smooth. Clean looking engine and chassis detailing. The chrome moldings around the side windows that you mentioned were an extra cost option as were the wheels you used here.

Great looking paint finish and color. The chrome trim, and there is a lot of it on a '58 Impala, looks good as well. I especially like the interior and exterior color combination as a close friend of mine had a '58 Impala but a convertible with this same color set up many years ago. Like the tasteful custom body touches and engine detailing.

Nice bright and smooth paint work and clean looking body trim. Your mention of the Road Runner stripe on the side and the power brake booster, the bottom of the booster may be a lost part or something still in the box. I'm no expert, but the side decal stripe looks good to me. The wheels look like the PD/Joker wheels. The painted hood stripe looks good as well.

The sun visors of the time were usually an aftermarket accessory, and their design would vary depending on who manufactured the visor. The visor in the kit looks like it represents a design with more adjustability and stronger mounting support. The adjustable visors could be loosened on both sides and the center support and adjust the angle of the visor. Many would just screw into the A pillar on either side of the windshield, but you wouldn't be able to change the angle of the visor. Having the running boards match the roof would look good. -
Great looking build and you should put it in a show. Only a suggestion and depending on the contest rules, the tires might look better with a set of wide white walls for a true stock look for 1953.

Revell 32 Ford roadster new release done the hard way!
espo replied to Bullybeef's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The great thing about the early AMT '32's was the interchangeability of parts between the kits. The later Revelle chassis should be a big upgrade in that area. -
Beautiful looking Chris Craft and I like your old F-1.

Looks great. I like the original look. The paint and body trim are all very clean looking.

Like the sedan delivery style. Interesting two-tone paint treatment. Nice rough and ready gasser on the trailer.

Galaxie 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster
espo replied to Katsusauce's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
That is a cherry looking Chevy. Always hurts to look back at what could have been. The picture I sent Dave G. was of a model I built a few years ago and was ment to show how nice these kits are since he said he wasn't that familiar with them. I'll share a picture when finished, you may even like the color. -

I think your best bet would be at a show/swap meet. You could always post here on the forum you are looking for one. Someone may be open for a trade with you if you have something that they are looking for.
