  1. Great idea. Can't wait to see what else you got planed for this one.
  2. Outstanding paint work so far. The Chrysler 300 grill and canted headlights look great.

    Revell AMG GT

Very sharp clean looking build. That shade of blue looks perfect on this. I like how you detailed the wheels rather than just leaving them black.
  4. I also remember the Willys Wagon and trailer. That is such an outstanding build. The '48 Ford two door Woody really got my attention. Then I see the picture with the doors open and see the interior. If I ever win the Lottery I'll build one of those but it will be 1:1 scale. I'm going to set fire to my work bench now after seeing these builds.
  5. That's quite a bit of body work. The grill looks like it will become the main styling feature. I like the smooth sides and the shortened trunk and hood look different.
  6. I have owned a few Chevrolet pick ups and enjoyed playing with them. The last one was a '96 Extended Cab with the 6' bed. Stockland camper shell with no windows and it also was white with the light beige interior. I redid the suspension much as you have done. The 350 was replaced with a 383 crate motor from Blue Print with the Chip to compensate for the bigger cam and the FI modifications that I had done. The transmission was never a problem for me, but when I first lowered it I did have an issue that may or may not have anything to do with your problems. Like you I raised the center carrier mount when I lowered the truck. On the '96 I used the relocated front leaf spring mounts and longer rear shackles as this lowered it 4 inches. I used 2 inch drop spindles and cut one coil on the front. After I got the suspension where I wanted it I noticed under some driving conditions, especially from a stop getting up to speed a little faster than the rest of traffic, you could feel a slight vibration that could get kind of bad when I really stood on it. I figured out that when I changed all of the suspension around I had the pinion angle wrong. I put a very small shim between the differential and the leaf spring mount and the problem was solved. Your description of the modifications on your truck and the transmission especially if your pinion angle is off, and with all you have done I would think it is something other than stock, this can have a big effect on the transmission. You may not feel the same vibrations I had, but your drive shaft is in a different position than stock and the shaft will move further into the rear of the transmission under some conditions and this will have an impact on the internals of the transmission. As I said this may not even be your problem but it is something that will not cost a lot to have checked and them same for installing shims if needed to change the angle.
  7. I guess I'm one of the few that like the Step Side look. It can be both a personal and even a regional styling statement. I have owned two, a '74 and a '79. I was living in SoCal and was being transferred to Northern California and wanted a Step Side bed and none of the dealers stocked them. I got to Santa Maria and that was about all the stocked anywhere in a short bed. The '74 had duel gas tanks and there was just a simple gas cap affair sticking out of the front side of the rear fenders on both sides. By '79 they had a nice square gas door with the filler inside. In the pictures of the new Step Side it looks like they have added a round door now. The Tail Lights are the same as I recall but the rear bumper is a little more substantial than before and it has the steps on the ends of the bumper to help getting into the bed and that's an improvement also. It might be interesting to go into GM's web site and see it they're offering a Step Side bed again. Most people today seem to want as big a cab as they can get and a Step Side would look a little strange on a truck with a great big four door body truck.
  8. Thank you JT. Glad you enjoyed it. This is the way I would have built one back then if that was what I needed for the Family.

    1958 Corvette

Your build looks great. This is a good kit but it can be fiddly at times. The color you used is very much like one of the OEM colors that you just didn't see very often. I also like the little trim differences on the '58 model.
  10. great looking Roadster, and the Coupe also. Nice contrasting colors on the interior.
  11. I saw a Ford Fairmont a couple of years ago that was done in the same manor in a light beige color. The owner of the body shop that I was talking to at the time said he knew the owner well and I had a Ford 347 cu in engine. You know what one of the small block Fords sound like with a lumpy cam and Flow Master 40s. That is what I noticed. I love cars like this, keep'em guessing.
  12. Greetings to you as well Joerg. I'm glad you liked the colors.
  13. There used to be a saying "All show and no Go" A lot of money was spent to turn a great car into something that is shinny but no longer useful.
  14. Almost to close to call. The Hood trim would be fairly easy to correct. They both look great as built by Janne Herajarv, but his models tend to always look great.
  15. The story is suspect but plausible. The model however is outstanding. I have a preference for the Flat Head but the Hemi is cool also.
  16. Great looking interior. I like how you are showing the engine with some ageing issues. One thing on your engine. The drivers side valve cover is on upside down. I don't know how hard it would be for you to remove and reposition it at this time with all of your engine detailing. The Big Blocks had four mounting blots on the bottom edge and three bolts on top. The notch in the Valve Cover is to clear the Power Brake Booster on the 1:1 but it may not be an issue on your build. I look forward to seeing your body and paint on this.
  17. Mean looking Mustang. The rear window slats look in scale which would be hard for such an intricate part. The wheel openings look perfect and not overdone. The stance looks great as is and the Keystone wheels give the wheel & tire combo the right look.
  18. As pointed out by others the paint is outstanding. I like how you have detailed the engine compartment.
  19. They also work good for making inner fenders to clear larger rear tires. I did a Pro Street Truck a few years ago and they worked perfect for the portion of the fender you would see inside the bed.
  20. Going back over the pictures I see what you mean about the grill and headlights. The change is subtle enough that I didn't even notice, I like this look better. I also see what you mean about the fenders being reshaped and that also looks better. Overall the body is very smooth and flows well. Sometimes the littlest changes can have the biggest effect.
  21. Very nice. Perfect stance and the way you detailed the wheels really helps with the overall look. Did you do a slight two tone effect with the paint ?
  22. I like them both. The amber fog lights are a nice touch.

    '61 Falcon Gasser

Very realistic looking little Gasser. The 1:1 Falcon didn't much and would make a perfect Gasser. I like how you made it look like a Weekend Warrior with little or no sponsors.
  24. I was thinking the same thing on the driver's door. However looking at the picture I also noticed what looks like the body side molding sticking out just a little on the first picture. It could also be that the door is already damaged but at the angle of the door you can't see the dent but the side molding to me indicates that the dent may have already happened. Either way this was a pretty funny movie and I'm thinking of watching it again. I'm also interested in how the build is progressing.
  25. I think there is more to this Granada than meets the eye. The exterior looks far to nice and looking at the widened wheels I think there might just be enough under the hood to make a little smoke.
