  1. They claim you can pour this stuff over a burning match and it will not ignite. Liquid gasoline does the same thing; it is the vapour that is flammable.
  2. Hi Bob, how do you find the alignment between the cab and the bed? Being the last evolution of this tooling, I'd bet it fits pretty good. I recently picked up a couple built kits: a 1975 and a 1977. The '75s cab seems to be wider but the '77s cab seems to fit the bed better; both beds are the same width, just different trim. I believe the monster truck cab and bed have no side trim at all...?
  3. I find myself wondering what other 80s TV shows have been revisited in a commercial and what will be the next one. I know of the MacGuyver MasterCard commercial; are there any others?
  4. The 1984 GMC kit is the final evolution of the original tooling from 1977.
  5. Kit was released in 1977; the truck depicted could be a 77 or 78. The Revell kits either have a small sunroof hole or a slightly bigger hole for a hood blister with clearance lights and mounting bosses for air horns. The MPC kits have cut guide lines but a solid roof.
  6. I don't suppose you remember which paints and what ratios?
  7. The body you have is from the original 1978 model year kit that was issued; the only 2WD one. It had that custom grille in it.
  8. My 2011 GMC Terrain is still chugging along recall free. *knock on wood*
  9. None of the Jimmy Flintstone bodies come with glass.
  10. Friends of the family used to work for another company, Truck 'n' Roll. They do primarily music industry shows. As I recall all their trucks are black Freightliners.
  11. I was watching an episode of Top Gear the other day and Jeremy was driving a French hot hatch (can't remember if it was the Renault or the Peugeot) but it had the option of picking from a bunch of different engines to pipe through the sound system.
  12. I guess I'm not really sure what I'm looking for...! RCMP decals, most likely. I know the Saint John Police Force doesn't use SUVs at all, let alone Expeditions.
  13. Funny, I just watched the Top Gear episiode where the Hindustan Ambassador was crowned Top Taxi...
  14. Go for Elm City Hobbies, Scott won't steer you wrong!
  15. Aha! Another minor mystery solved. Mack Mid-Liner CS series. Apparently there was even a resin kit by Sourkraut that is now OOP.
  16. I must be really, really odd because that car does nothing for me. Total yawn fest. Give me a 68 Charger with a slant 6; now that's a real rare Mopar!
  17. Here's 3000 words for you...
  18. I was out driving around today with my little one napping in the back seat when I came across a pair of trucks sitting in a yard looking quite the worse for wear. They were badged as Macks, complete with bulldog hood ornaments, but the cab design and wheels were distinctly European. After some research, I discovered that the trucks look very close to a Scania 1-series conventional. Now, also discovering that Mack and Scania have a very close relationship with their engines and buses, seeing Scania trucks in Canada badged as Macks makes a certain amount of sense. However, I cant seem to find any reference to them online or even what model designation Mack gave them. If it werent for the rain I would've tried to snap a couple of pictures to prove I'm not crazy...! Does anyone else know anything at all about these weird trucks?
  19. Also, Cervini is a name I recognize for high quality stuff. I'm not sure how much I like the center section mounting, however. In climates like we have around here, that is just asking for rust. Plus, I think it would look better if the light surround and center section were body colour, IMO.
  20. They advertise plug-and-play; I wonder if they actually have resistors built in? LED tail lights are notorious for fast-flash.
  21. Anyone that has this kit will tell you that the decals are quite lacking, being peel-and-stick rather than water slide. Do any of the usual law enforcement decal makers make decals for the Expedition? Or have sets that can work on something other than a car? I did a quick look around for law enforcement/emergency vehicle decals and most of them seem to be tailor made for Caprices, Crown Victorias, or Chargers. I have seen some builds of law enforcement/emergency Tahoes, so there must be SOMEthing out there..!
  22. The 26th annual Capital Area Modellers Society is happening this coming Saturday, May 31st at the Kinsmen's Center, 141 School Street, Fredericton, NB. Doors open at 9:00 am and registration runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Come if you can!
  23. The full size measurements are the same, but scaling down to 1:24 is a bit different. You will need to add 0.5 in (12.7 mm) ahead of the front wheels and 0.25 in (6.35 mm) behind.
  24. As someone that suffers from severe sleep apnea, I can say that this is a pretty good idea, IMO. Before I started with my CPAP machine I would find myself struggling to stay awake on drives longer than 30 minutes. In one instance, I nodded off and woke up on the shoulder in the left lane! That scared the pooh outta me, you better believe it. Now that I have the CPAP, I have gone on several 3+ hour drives with no issues at all. I can certainly understand the reasoning behind the regulations, but I'm not so sure the implementation is appropriate. I was fortunate enough to have 90% of the cost of my machine and first mask covered by health insurance; not everyone will be so lucky.
  25. So Harry, you're saying the fourth generation Chargers look good?
