  1. Okay, so this is actually a Blazer standing in for the GMC but it is the same kit from the B pillar forward (just like the real trucks...). The bumper is actually in scale for 1:24 as well!
  2. That bumper guard would look a wee bit small on the plow truck. I'll take a picture tomorrow for you so you can see.
  3. I wonder if the Ram Tradesman will still be available? Or will it be completely replaced by the lightest duty Promaster...?
  4. This kit is 1:24 scale and originally a Monogram; the Fall Guy kit is 1:25 and originally MPC. Aside from low detail in key areas, the only major issue with this kit is the rear cab wall. As designed, it is very difficult to get the interior in with the cab wall in place. Waiting to glue in the cab wall after paint during final assembly would leave a highly visible seam.
  5. The Monogram Ramcharger is a 79-80. This was also the last of the Ramchargers with a removable roof, but I have yet to successfully remove one... :/
  6. To preserve the frame geometry and keep everything where it should be, you need to add 18 scale inches in front of the front spring perches and 6 scale inches behind them. This will convert your 6 foot bed frame into an 8 foot bed frame and should have the end result of centering the axle with the bed.
  7. Check put my kit history article here:http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=69861&p=864565
  8. Like the article says, this isn't the first Chinese copy of an F-150.
  9. My dad and I use Mastercraft tools almost exclusively and don't usually have many problems with them. I've had two ratchets replaced in my socket set due to broken mechanisms and between the two of us I've lost count how many torx bits we've broken. But, every time Canadian Tire replaces them no questions asked.
  10. When my wife and I purchased a new-to-us vehicle on the 12th, I talked the dealer into giving us a new ser of all season tires (it had winters on it) and a trailer hitch. They ordered them the Monday after we picked it up and arrived this past Monday. I made an appointment today for 9AM to get them installed. For a loaner, they gave us our old car. The service manager said I wouldn't get our new vehicle back until supper time (!). I get a call at 4PM informing me that they brought our vehicle in the shop at 1PM (!!), spent three hours drilling out a broken tap they used as a thread chaser, and they wouldn't be done with the vehicle until mid-day tmorrow because they didn't have the tires changed yet (!!!). The dealership was very quick to make the sale and get us into our new vehicle but now that they aren't making any more money off of us they don't seem to care about customer service anymore. I was considering taking the vehicle to them for future servicing but that will most certainly not be the case now. One-and-a-half working days for a job that should take an hour tops is simply ridiculous and unacceptable.
  11. Ha! Supposedly the name comes from a quarter mile goal they were aiming for. Also, four different cars went into building it
  12. Great to deal with and I think he's a member here as well.
  13. It was a concept for a 1970 Shelby built by Car Craft. Started with a stock 1969, used a Shelby front clip, unique grille, filled in the hood vents, and used a Cougar dash. Apparently this blue one and a red one were made before Ford and Shelby split. I'll build one one of these days...
  14. It is actually a 2011 and has 118k kms on it now (about 73k miles). But it is fully loaded and has much, much more room than our trade in (a Pontiac G3). It is amazing how much space you lose when toting a baby around!
  15. Here are some that I have completed. Some are rather old builds and I'm amazed to see how far I've come in my building skills. Please excuse the dust and the blur; apparently I need a tripod!
  16. The description your friend found is from my kit history article. This kit can be pretty crude in some ways but in others it builds up pretty good. Only one set of the hinges on the body is needed for the spare tire carrier; the other is for a Jerry can carrier that was not included in this issue.
  17. It was actually on Saturday, but we brought this home: Who says you can't make deals at used car lots? I think we made off pretty good! Got them to throw in a new set of all season tires and a hitch!
  18. Is it corrosion of the metal or just the clear coat? If it is just the clear coat you can strip it with muriatic acid and re-apply.
  19. There is such a thing as a SRW F-350... I want to convert one into a regular cab.
  20. I have looked, but I prefer the look of these wheels for this build. Sort of a retro MPC vibe to it.
  21. I have many of those wheels; not interested for this build.
