I agree with Darrin; I love a lot of the subjects MPC produced. Sometimes the kits aren't up to modern standards but the subjects are what is the best.
As a warning, however, the Lonestar's initial instructions were absolute garbage. The subsequent Hudson and Chrysler 300 instructions are great. If you pick up a Lonestar do yourself a favour and download the Revell Germany instructions from their website.
I believe Blue Oval Resin Works had a whole bunch of resin items for this body style truck, including all the different grilles, corrected 8' bed, a 6.5' bed, crew cab, visors, etc etc. No idea if he is still producing these, however.
Visual aids, maybe?
Here are all the parts that make up the Odyssey, with two-part hard plastic tires. The only part I am missing appears to be the steering column, but I can make something up pretty easy.
It is pretty much a snap-fit.
The moment I found out about this kit, I had to have one. I have fond memories of riding around with my uncle on his late-model Odyssey (with full roll cage and Big Red wheels) on the frozen river amongst ice fishing shacks.
I recently acquired one of my grail kits, the Revell Ridge Runner set with a Ford Courier, trailer, and early-model Honda Odyssey FL250 ATV. I'm excited to build the Odyssey and trailer for use with another tow vehicle, but before I build it I was wondering if there are any resin casters that would be interested in adding the Odyssey (and maybe trailer?) to their inventory? I would ship the parts to you for you to make the molds and afterwards you would ship the original parts back. I might also be interested in a casting or two.
Any takers?
The AMT (ex-MPC) engine is pretty good for a representation of a 351M. The only better example you'll find is either the AMT 79 Bronco or the AMT Econoline van (most recently reissued as the Phantom).
At some point in the cycle the rear window was changed. The blue truck with the BBS wheels has a small back window while the 1995 issue with the red truck has a big back window. I think that issue also has both the stock and drop front axles in it, but only stock wheels.
I LOVED MacGuyver when I was a kid, during its original run. My brother and I would always scoot up to the TV when it was on, I even used to tell the barber I wanted a MacGuyver haircut. For some reason I have yet to buy the DVD sets....someday.
I'm currently reading Shakespeare's Star Wars: Verily, A New Hope. It's a hoot for someone like me that loves Star Wars and has acted in Shakespeare plays.
Harry, I'm not sure if this forum supports it or even if it is desirable to TPTB, but I have seen other forum software that can leave a link inte original posted location directing folks to the new topic location. Possible?
