I also remade the hood hinge , it was kind of big and ugly . I found some small diameter brass rod that fit into .062 tubing and made a new one . I'm also trying something a little different to dress them up a bit . Kind of crude but you get the idea , I can add springs after it's painted . What do you think ?

It's been over a month and I'm finally back working on this El Camino ! Over the weekend I about finished the interior , paint and some BMF . I added a clutch pedal and made a shift lever and boot , and the steering wheel from Detail Masters . I'd prefer to use the stock wheel but this is a recreation of my own El Camino and that's what it had . I'm still going to add some floor mats , and I didn't forget the seat belts , it didn't have any ! It's taped together for the photos since it will be assembled inside the finished body to make sure everything

Anne , you did you order paint from ? I've ordered paint from most of the online hobby shops and always have it in my hand in less than a week . Lately I just shop price and if it is in stock .

I bought this resin body on ebay a couple of months ago . I don't remember the name but if you search resin bodies you will see it . The vendor was " msmiteymouse " . No listings right now but they do have it .

Nice looking Olds Jim ! Looks good painted that color and the wheels are perfect . I hated that body style when they came out in '73 , now I think they look pretty sharp ! Must be an age thing .

That's pretty cool , and it looks pretty good too ! I've got several "survivors" from way back when , some in good shape but most have seen better days . Maybe there should be a topic started so we all can show our "survivors" !

It's a matter of personal taste , but I finish with a light spray of Dull-Cote . It knocks the shine off of the vinyl and makes the sticker and tire look more realistic .

Try www.vinylnationdecals.com for Redlines , Bluelines , Gold and white wall stickers . Great prices and they are a thousand times easier than waterslide decals .

Oooo that's nice ! Marina Blue is the perfect color and the detailing is great ! I really like the interior details , and the top stowed below the lid . I'm gonna have to build another one of these !
