  1. No , I'm not recommending anything , what you are doing is probably just fine . Where I live we don't have much cold weather ( it's 89 degrees outside right now ) so the fridge just seemed like a good idea . The AC doesn't kick on 'till about 78 and by then it can be a bit sticky in here !
  2. The simple explanation is . . . two different manufacturers . The new Revell body is a really nice piece but I think the MPC '67 body is probably correct .
  3. I might be wrong about this but I'm not sure it will stick to bare plastic . I remember trying this with another brand before I bought some BMF and it didn't work . Of course it was garbage anyway , that's why I bought the "real" stuff !
  4. Bill , I have two sheets of "Chrome" BMF that I've had just over one year , one came with a few wrinkles in it and the other didn't have any . I've kept them laying flat in the envelope and in the refrigerator since day one and there are no additional winkles appearing . I just used some on a body yesterday and it worked just like the first time , nice and smooth and the adhesive was just fine . I've heard that the "Ultra Bright" Chrome is a bit different but I've never tried it . I always polish the "Chrome" before cutting it from the sheet to give it a bright finish ! Also I've experimented with some of the wrinkled stuff and was able to smooth them out while applying the foil with no cracking . When I was finished it was impossible to tell it had ever been wrinkled ! Maybe I've been lucky but this is my experience with BMF . I'm interested in how you make out with five year old sheets , please let us know .
  5. Absolutely beautiful , as usual ! And thanks again for the "in progress" photos .
  6. Here's a couple I got out of an old printer .
  7. Excellent save ! It's really sharp looking and I love the color !
  8. Great looking four door ! Nice work .
  9. Your finished builds are always so impressive , it's nice to see a W.I.P. of one . It's as beautiful going together as it is when it's finished ! Thanks for sharing and PLEASE do more of these .
  10. I agree 100% with Art , if you look closely you can see the clear film . I rarely use decals but learned my lesson long ago , now if I have any doubts about their condition I always coat them with Testors Decal Bonder or any clear lacquer . There's no sense in taking a chance even with supposedly new decals .
  11. Holy Cow ! ! No wonder it took 20 + years to finish it ! I enjoy hand painting details but could only do something like this for about 30 minutes before going nuts . Excellent work and it sure looks like it was worth it !
  12. SMBC sells the decals for the '72 Ranchero , I got a set from them .
  13. A quick internet search turned up more than a dozen versions of a "New" Mustang , obviously nobody knows except for Ford and they aren't talking ! I'm not a big Mustang fan but I kinda like this version .
  14. Then somebody pulled an "April Fools" on Stacey David ! Does he really believe that's the new Mustang ?
  15. Very Nice ! You have every right to be proud of that one , it looks great ! And my favorite year Charger too , I love the grille and the taillights . Nice photography too .
  16. Now that's a beautiful Outlaw ! Really clean and great detailing ! Nicest one I've seen in a long time .
  17. That's a cool idea building the old and new versions . They all look excellent ! Personally I like the original versions better . Tip - You need to put your full name either above your location or in your signature line ( forum rules ) .
  18. Yep , two separate course . The outer two lanes ran the oval and the two inside lanes ran thru the infield and turns three and four . This was back before the G-Force cars and such , I raced plain old AFX cars and it was a blast on the banking ! They were plenty fast with 20 volts on each car and they spun easily if you weren't careful . I've got some pics of my cars , I'll dig them out and post some .
  19. That's incredible ! ! Super job of rebuilding a so-so looking toy !
  20. Copy that . Chris has excellent goodies and excellent service !
  21. There they are ! Great group photo of all your 58's and I didn't even notice the towel ! Excellent looking collection Rich .
  22. I agree that it would be nice in 1/25th scale but I don't know where I'd put it . It would measure 43" wide x 65" long !
  23. I built this back around '84 or '85 in a spare room in the mobile home I lived in . Every body thought I was crazy and I guess I was , but it sure was fun and my 9 yr old son loved it ! It was pretty tight in a 14 x 12 room so the whole thing slid back and forth on kind of a rail system made from 2 x 4's . It's four lanes with four 20 volt transformers supplying the power . And yes , there is a train too !
