  1. Yeah , the Duplicolor is too light . This Metro is painted with the Nassau Blue . It's not really bright enough . . . have to keep looking . I also found this in my samples . It is Tamiya Clear Blue over silver ( top ) and over white .
  2. I was going to suggest Model Master Nassau Blue , but that Duplicolor Light Blue might be closer .
  3. Great looking builds ! I've always liked the Red Baron kits and you did a beautiful job on both ! I'm not going to pick a favorite because I love them both !
  4. Really sharp looking ! Love the grille !
  5. Beautiful car ! I also like the "top up" look ! Great color choice and very nicely done .
  6. Yeah right . It took me days to figure this out . . . seems like someone would explain it to me and I'd get completely lost . I never could understand " Ctrl + x + shift \ F1A " . Maybe not too old but definetly slow !
  7. Wow ! ! ! Beautiful work on the engine and radiator !
  8. Go to your very first post ( where you started a new topic ) and click "edit" then click on "use full editor" . When that screen comes up you will be able to change the title of your thread .
  9. You're right Kevin , only the street cars had a visible gap . My mistake .
  10. I've sprayed the Clear Red over a black , a white , and a silver base coat with no problems . It goes on very smooth and easily . Your main concern is getting the gold on nice and smooth as you can't sand it before spraying the clear red . I'd test it first to make sure .
  11. Looks good so far Jason ! I wish they had those conversion kits when I built my Daytona , I had to make my own pieces . I don't know how accurate you want to be but the nose on the real car was a bolt on piece , you can see a gap between it and the body that is filled with a rubber strip . Not a big deal , just FYI .
  12. Really nice Jim ! The color and the custom touches are perfect !
  13. Beautiful , great job !
  14. I'm using the " New and Improved " photobucket now so maybe that's the problem . Here they are again .
  15. I had lost interest in this build and it was in danger of being boxed up and forgotten forever , so I decided to make it a curbside and finish it quick ! So I glued the hood shut and sanded everthing smooth for paint . Here's the base coats . And here's the color . It's Duplicolor Chili Pepper Red . I should have it cleared later today , then after a couple of days I can do a little BMF and finish it up !
  16. Thanks Jason ! It's different from what I normally build but was kinda fun . Glad you like it !
  17. Great looking chopper ! The shifter and black paint look sharp !
  18. There is one like you describe on ebay now for $19.99 + shipping , do a search for " Magnifying Lamps " . But to be honest it doesn't look very useful , you'd be better off spending more to get a clamp on type with an adjustable arm .
  19. Nice looking race hauler you have there ! Really clean and nicely detailed . I doubt too many people can tell what kind of engine that is .
  20. Pretty cool James ! I wasn't around last year to see this so I'm glad it was brought up again . Great chopper with the coffin tank and your version of the Fire Truck looks cool in black !
  21. What a beauty ! Those little details like the snaps on the boot really make a model stand out . Your advice about the windshield is absolutely correct , that's the only way to get everything to fit properly . I can't wait to build one of these myself . Great job !
  22. How about this drum set ? Been in my closet for years . . . might even put it together one day !
