  1. If you still have it I'd like to "borrow" the parts to cast them . Please send me a PM ! Edit - I'll rent them or trade parts for the time and pay shipping !
  2. Just curious , what parts do you need ?
  3. Thanks Dave , so do I ! I've about finished the mods on the chassis and made up a new fuel tank using the one I cut from the AMT kit . Everything seems to fit okay , I'll add some tank straps after paint . I also narrowed the track simply by opening up the backing plates and sliding them in on the axle ( I'll cut the ends off later ) . This narrowed it by 3/16" total !
  4. Boy , she sure is purty ! Excellent job and I really love the colors ! Also the BMF and your engine detailing are first class .
  5. I didn't know that . Thanks , I'll keep an eye out for one .
  6. Dang that's pretty ! ! Really really nice build .
  7. Great save , it was the right thing to do . And you're right , it looks GREAT bone stock !
  8. It looks good in black and I love those 409's ! Try some black wash to really make those wheels pop ! Just thin some black paint until it is real watery and let it flow into the spokes with a small brush , any excess can be easily wiped off before it dries . It's easy and I think you'll like the results ! And welcome to the forum !

    1957 AMT Chevy

Great looking Chevy Cruz ! Color and stance are perfect . Do you remember where the Cragar S/S's came from ? I'm using one set from my parts box on a build now and would really like to find another set . Thanks .
  10. But it has a mirror ! ! Really nice looking El Camino . Great looking engine detailing and I like the anodized look on the suspension and other pieces .
  11. 1978 thru '81 had single headlamps and the MPC kits are readily available . 1982 - Up had the dual headlamps and the only kit available is the SS version .
  12. I think Shawn was the only source for this , it was really nice too . I've been looking too and have come up empty . I'm hoping one will show up on ebay one of these days !
  13. Looks great ! I always liked that car , and the later Torinos that Bud Moore built .
  14. Beautiful ! Great paint and trim work . It looks like the front bumper / grille and the windshield fit pretty good on this body , it's on my wish list . Thanks for sharing !
  15. Great work Chris ! Your builds always are cleanly done and well detailed . I like the cover on the front of the scoop , nice touch !
  16. I've made a little progress the last couple of days . I 've got the interior pieces fitted and fabricated a hood hinge . I also painted the tires , they are really nice ! Thank you Joseph at Fireball Modelworks . I need to clean up the center caps on the wheels , got a little bit too much paint on them !
  17. No problem Gary , I'm just getting back here too ! To answer your question about the hood , I'll use what parts I have and let you decide . The Revell Impala body is about 1/16" wider than the AMT bodies , but the hood is about 1/16" narrower ! It actually fits the AMT body pretty good , a little sanding along the cowl and add a strip to both sides and it would fit perfect ! It should work for you just fine . I'm sending you a PM . Good luck on you project !
  18. I was 16 ( turned 17 in October that year ) , had just gotten my license , and got 2 tickets the first month ! I bought it with my own money but never asked before I did so I almost lost the car then . I sold my Torino , paid the tickets , and bought a Vega !
  19. Great job Ray ! It sure looks like the box art , not one of my favorites , but you did a great job .
  20. Incredible build ! There's so much detail it's gonna take a while to soak it all in ! Congratulations on a job well done !
  21. Just out of curiosity what did you order from Modelhaus ? I didn't know they had any parts for this . I guess I should explain that this isn't a resin kit , I mated the top from the AMT '59 El Camino to a Revell '60 Impala . It actually worked pretty good . I spent a lot of time filling and sanding to make the tailgate and taillight panel correct . Here's a few photos .
  22. Great looking build of a very under appreciated car ! Very nice detailing , right down to the glasses on the console !
  23. Good looking Super Bee ! I like the purple and white . Great looking paint and detailing .
  24. Nice looking GTO !
